Thanks, Teacher Brett, this was so helpful! I have been trying to learn a lot of new tools this summer since we're going to be teaching on Zoom during the fall, at least, and I didn't feel like learning Nearpod, which was the tool on my to-do list for today. But your video has really made me want to try this wonderful tool and I will definitely be in touch if I have specific questions. You made a great video--thanks again!! Hi! I love you energy and this Nearpod interactive features. This app helps me a lot to turn my dynamic offline classroom into a dynamic online classroom base too. Anyway, thank you for sharing.
Hi Brett. Do you remember the name of the pop up backdrop you’re using? I know they aren’t made anymore, but I was hoping I could find one secondhand from a former teacher. Thank you!
Hi ! Thank you for this video !! Very Useful ! I have a question .... Can I use the Breakout rooms with nearpod? Are they going to see the slides in the Breakout rooms? Thank you :)
Hi! Thank you for this video! So helpful! Quick question...is there a way to draw on a side in the middle of a live lesson so your students can see your work in progress? For example am I able to demonstrate or model how to draw fractions on a number line live? Thanks!
Thank you! I’m going to try Nearpod for the first time. I’m wondering if I’m able to see my students and if they can still see me while presenting LIVE to their individual devices? If they are on Nearpod, won’t they lose the Google Meet? Someone told me to split my screen but I don’t know how to do that.
a dumb question--I have adult students...some are very technically challenged. How do I teach them to keep the Zoom screen open but pull up a blank tab, paste in the link to the nearpod, and manage the zoom and nearpod tab side by side on one screen? Most are on laptops but one person does use an ipad. Any video to walk them through how to do that?
I am new to all this online teaching. What are you using in this video that you are able to be in the top corner talking about this website? I teach first grade and I would like to make these types of videos to upload to TH-cam for my students to view before doing an assignment. Thank you so much for your help!
Dear Brett, thanks so much for the video. I will be teaching ESL to high school age and possibly a year or two older. I will be given access to Nearpod when our summer session begins. Do you know if NP has ESL lessons NOT for children, but easy enough to follow? Thanks very much.
This sounds so awesome! I can’t wait to go in and explore it. I’m trying to figure what would work best for a trivia section in a live lesson....I’m thinking maybe the poll feature or time to climb?

Loved this overview! My students will be using Google Meet. Will they first go into the meet and then click on the link? Or do they just go to the nearpod link during a live lesson?
Hi! I’m new to this, and I tried my lesson out today. I added a decodable text for the kids to read as an open ended activity. I explained that they had to click to record first and then click on the text. None of them were able to record themselves. I turned on the ability to recon when I made the slide. When I did the preview, it worked. Do you know what I may have done incorrectly? Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
Is there a way to link a lesson both live and student paced? We are teaching live, but will also have some students doing asynchronous and I would need them to be able to access the lesson on their own.
Hey! Thank you for this video. If you share the link with kiddos in Zoom can you control which slide they are looking at or can they flip through as they want while your teaching? I would need to have control so they stay with me during the lesson.

I’m thinking I will be investing in Nearpod. Question: how do you do live sessions via zoom? How do they have their zoom open at the same time as Nearpod? I can’t figure out what that looks like. Sorry... I’m an older teacher struggling with virtual teaching.
You will give them the link while you are in zoom. When they click the link it will open up a new screen with the Nearpod lesson. They can still hear you through the open zoom tab but they will be viewing the Nearpod lesson tab. You can then go through the lesson, in the live mode you will control when the slides move on their screen!
Hi! Thank you for the video! Do you know if in the SELF PACED lesson - if a student had to stop and then come back later, will it save their results in order for them to pick up where they left off?
Nearpod allows you to launch quick activity features. Hence, you do not have to create a lesson for the same. Click the rocket icon on the top right part of your screen when logged onto Nearpod.
