      I would suggest not to watch The Plan at all. But if you really want to, for the sake of completeness, don't do yourself a disservice by watching it out of production order. This is written by writer that had joined in season 4, while subject matter is about season 1 and 2. As such, it feels like a fanfic, and misses or even contradict certain threads that one can get from overall story arc.
      I did participate in the survey and it is a shame that I can't say more without spoiling, however watching it out of order is like watching Razor after Lee took over Pegasus.

      I would recommend you watch “The Plan” before the finale, i.e. the last 4 episodes. Even though "The Plan" was released after the finale, it fits the storyline better, as the finale (without spoilers) is very well rounded and, in my opinion, one of the best TV series finales in history.
      By the way, today's episode is not a real episode but was published as so-called webisodes in short 3 - 4 minute long episodes, a total of 9 episodes of "The Face of the Enemy". It's also here on TH-cam.

      Personally, I would say after the series or, at the earliest, before Daybreak (all parts)
      But not after episode 15

      Continue to watch BSG in release order, which means The Plan comes after the finale. It is worth watching as it answers some of the questions that fell through the cracks of the ongoing series, plus there is a whole new visual perspective of the Fall of the Twelve Colonies that is visually stunning.

    I'm so glad you guys watched this episode. Even though Gaeta's arc still works without it, this episode adds some depth and context to it. Huge shoutout to Grace Park, she has done such a great job playing different versions of the same character and its really great looking at her with such warmth in her eyes then cut and you see her stone cold gaze. Pretty fun. This thing is really dark and eerie Mike was spot on, I always thought this episode was akin to a horror movie.
    I believe this was the last set on the show, everything else was being taken apart as they wrapped up the Raptor interior was their last remaining set so they quickly shot this with a few crewmembers. I'm glad they did its pretty cool.

    My understanding is that these webisodes were in part conceived with the purpose of clarifying Gaeta’s recent grudge against Baltar.
    Just before Baltar’s trial Gaeta tried to murder Baltar, and during the trial he lied about the circumstances of Baltar’s signing the execution order against hundreds of humans in New Caprica.
    Baltar mentioned to Gaeta something about keeping “his secret”, and questioned if Gaeta was the real traitor.
    But the issue was never fully clear on screen during the regular season 3 episodes.
    Gaeta tried to murder Baltar not only because he was disappointed in him, and saw him as a traitor, but also wanted to silence Baltar, to keep him from revealing Gaeta’s own double-dealings with the Cylons.
    The webisodes show us more of Gaeta’s involvement with the Cylons while in New Caprica; this is at least part of what he was trying to keep Baltar from revealing.

    It is correct to watch these webisodes here if you are watching in release order (which you should) as they were released just prior to the start of Season 4.5. The events portrayed actually take place during the events of "A Disquiet Follows My Soul," which was the second episode of the second half of the season, and the final scene of the webisode is actually seen in that broadcast episode.

    Wonderful!
    There seems to be a little confusion around the 8's intentions/actions on New Caprica. She told you at 26:07 "You kill the ones your enemy values". Gaeta, believing he was locating key personnel, was giving their names to the Cylons. The Cylons then knew who to target, allow Gaeta to think he'd saved some, by leaving them free to be seen for a little longer, but rounding them up regardless. The 8 telling Gaeta he "chose to not make the connection" is the proof that the connection between giving up the names and the 'failure' of the 8 to find most of them, wasn't failure at all but success. Baltar is intelligent enough to have seen it happening but be powerless to do anything about it because saying something would just have got Gaeta killed which would cost the link in the chain that got information to the resistance (I personally believe Gaius was muddying the data trails so the Cylons had no reason to know data was going missing and if they worked *that* out, difficult to follow).
    Gaeta's beef with Baltar (which we see get venomous during the trial) comes down to his own guilt, with only Gaius possibly knowing about what he'd done.
    34:56 "What the fuck is Starbuck?!" Oh Mike, I'm not even going to say which episode gives you an answer.
    As to the 'Honeypot' bots, *most* of the known models have a defining aspect. The Cavils, anger and resentment for being given human limitations. The Leobens, deeply invested in exploring spirituality and believe in the literal truth spoken by the Hybrids (who have said that Starbuck is the Harbinger of Death, leading Leoben to tell her 'you have a role'). The D'Annas, cynical, doubtful, always questioning and seeking truth. The Simons, clinical, detached, and unemotional. The Dorals are the most wishy-washy, with seemingly no defining feature at all. The Sixes are highly sexual and seek connection, but only with a sexual relationship do they seem to be able to form bonds - and (to me at least) explains her animosity toward the 8s (she's/they're jealous). The explanation for a number 7 model being missing is coming. Lastly the Sharons. As the last skin-job model, theirs is the most able to feel genuine emotion and we see their ability to form and maintain strong bonds with people.
    Love your faces, looking forward to the last chunk of the show.

    "Red line" is beyond their sensors and the chances of jumping into a space that is occupied by another object (sun, planet, moon, asteroid) becomes that much greater. Theoretically these ships can jump just about to any point in the galaxy (maybe even universe) but without the sensors they have no way of knowing where they will end up or how to get back (if they survive). This is way Shawn hesitated to Jump the ship when the Admiral Cain told her to jump away from the Shipyard during the Attack! Always remember how important it is to know where it is that your are jumping!

    • @Dularr
      @Dularr 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We also get the impression is jumps damage the ship. With longer jumps causing more damage.

    • @dekulruno
      @dekulruno 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I never really got this risk, I mean it is possible sure but also space is like 99.999999% empty and I’m missing some 9’s so there’s a chance sure but it’s really small, unless random jumps are somehow drawn toward solid objects.

    • @dekulruno
      @dekulruno 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Also the sensors are way shorter range than the red line… only the local star system. the red line is where the navigation calculations become non-linear, ie a small mistake can cause a very big difference in where you end up, within the red line jumps are more predictable and easily calculated by a rookie pilot with a computer. Beyond that you need a math genius like Gaeta to get you where you want to go.

    I would strongly recommend to watch The Plan just before the Finale, because The Plan is Ok, but not great. Watching after the Finale results in an “anti-climactic” feeling.
    That is what most people complain about The Plan (“is Ok, but Finale was much better”)
    This “letdown” feeling is easily avoided by watching The Plan just before the finale, because it leaves the best for last.
    (Plus, it’s more chronologically consistent)

      Not a bad idea, it doesnt spoil anything from the finale but I never had this problem to be honest. She said (at 26:07) "You kill the ones your enemy values". Gaeta, believing he was locating key personnel, was giving their names to the Cylons. The Cylons then knew who to target. They will have known the identities of major players, but not necessarily those who had come to prominence within the fleet, NOT just the military, since the attacks. The irony that the leaders of the resistance they were looking for (Tigh, Tyrol, and Anders), are all Cylons, was unknown to them at the time.

    Oh it's important to have context on these. Before S4.5 aired, SciFi network did a campaign of teasers - audio teasers - or maybe it was just one, that gave away tiny little plot threads out of context and I think these webisodes were probably part of the campaign to get people ready for wtf was going to happen after S4E10. If nothing else, they give some insight into some major characters in the last 10 episodes. Especially Gaeta.

  • @MarcReyes_
    @MarcReyes_ 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    Some trivia on these webisodes:
    As mentioned elsewhere in the comments, the eight featured in these webisodes is known as Sweet 8.
    Narcho was originally Gaeta's human lover, but that was changed to Hoshi because Narcho's actor was unavailable. Likewise, there were originally two sixes, which was changed to a six and an eight when Grace Park became available, then changed to two eights when Tricia Helfer was not.
    These webisodes are annoyingly not available on the blurays. "Legal clearances, timing issues, disc capacity or other issues prevent existing material from being included" where the only reasons I could find.

      I'm glad it ended up being an Eight who deceived Gaeta instead of a Six. It makes a lot more sense psychologically that Gaeta would trust a Cylon who reminded him of Athena than a Cylon who looked exactly like the one who shared a bed with Baltar.

    The red line was mentioned in the miniseries and a few times throughout the first series.
    It's essentially the maximum a ship can have its jump plotted before the errors in the calculation become unreliable.
    With networked computers, the redline is farther but leaves the ship open to cylon hacking as seen in Scattered.
    An example of this was when the fleet needed to jump through the star cluster in The Passage.
    Military vessels have a larger redline than civilian ships and were better shielded against radiation, which is why raptors escorted them through the cluster as they could calculate farther and fewer jumps and transmit the coordinates to the civilians.
