A second hand EM1ii with 12-40mm PRO is possibly the biggest bargain in photographic equipment right now. Totally pro body and lens with results to match.

Bought EM5III with just about 5000 clicks on shutter count electronic shutter and it was.. oala... $430 equivallent.
I also have 9mm fish 14-42/3.5-5.6, 25/1.7, 40-150/4-5.6, 45/1.8, 75-300. Great system for travelling light when I do not want to pack my Pentax DSLR setup.
I would also like to find some affordable 12-100/4.. that would be great addition. Or maybe 14-150..

    Congratulations on your gear purchases.
I use M43 and Fuji APSC cameras. I think the Panasonic bodies are generally more video centric than Olympus. Panasonic doggedly stuck with the contrast detection until the G9ii. Their DFD works quite well for photography. Not so much for video. The Olympus is a good budget choice.
I do have the EMD1 Mii. A lovely body. The EMD5 Miii is supposed to be a mini 1ii. There are a lot of M43 lenses to choose from. I only own Olympus and Panasonic lenses. Heard and read good things about Sigma lenses. Whereas the Olympus & Panasonic lenses are interchangeable they don’t necessarily place nice with other brand.
I bought the Olympus 12-40mm pro lens for $400. Great focal length. F2.8. Nice. You are right. This is a chunky lens. The Panasonic 12-60mm kit lens has a great range but is somewhat slow. I have the Panasonic 20mm pancake lens and love it. I use it for street photography. Never tried it for video. Outside the pen F there doesn’t seem to be that much price gouging for M43 gear as you see for Fuji bodies. Thank goodness.

Completely false about Panasonic stabilization and color science. It is up there on the first sport with the other few. It is one of the best. Autofocus is on Panasonic is not reliable that’s correct

For travel, I prefer Olympus 12-200 (eq 24-400) than the 12-60 (eq 24-120). About same size and weight.

you should try the 60 mm olympus for macro, it can also be used for portraits too

who da fuck told you LUMIX has crappy stabe? the G9 from 2017 has 6.5 stops of stabe, the GH5 has 5 stops of stabe, the G9 mark 2 has 8 stops of stabe, and I dont remember how much the Gh6 has.
