That’s one of my favorite things to do when I’m bored playing story mode.
This video is a comparison of Arthur Morgan and John Marston greeting, greeting, and antagonizing other NPCs.

@@fimmycomiro John should not have lost honor for beating the guy, The guy was clearly asking for it by everything he said and saying “I’ll knock your head off” before fighting, and the guy even had the nerve to say “you’re weak” when he was the one getting his ass kicked

@@jmzack3021 makes sense, there’s no need to have high honor as John because it doesn’t affect him at all other than the NPC’s outside the ranch he has already come across, I kind a wish the honor affected his dialogue in cutscenes in the first game, unfortunately the only thing it affects is the NPC‘s in how he greets them
@@jmzack3021 I don't care about honor unless I'm in ch6 other than that I antagonize npcs, kill them if they are rude and have fun in van horn lol (or I might raise my honor to unlock outfits or the hero grip on the cattleman revolver tho)
A lot of the male npcs are nasty like that though. I’ll be trotting down the road, minding my own business, greet an NPC passing by and continue on my way when all of a sudden I hear them say something like, “oUtTa mY fAcE.” Or, “gO oN, GeT!” Or, “dID i sAy yOu CoUlD sPeAk tO mE?” I know it’s all fake, but it can be real triggering that someone would have the nerve to treat you like garbage like that for no reason. And when I have Arthur or John verbally retaliate and stand up for themselves, they call ME out for what THEY did and THREATEN me with a gun, which is a bad move of anyones part. You don’t know what that person is capable of, “i’Ll sHoOt yOu DoWn! i wIlL…” CRACK! Your skull is already open for threatening me, you brought this on yourself.
It makes sense though, and adds to the realism.
Arthur's voiceover is way better than John's.

Imo Arthur just has funnier dialogue 🤣🤣 no matter what he says you can always get a good laugh, where I like john but i feel like they gave him dull lines
They should've just reuse some of his lines from rdr1, they were hilarious.

My favorite npc voice is the one that says "ready to lose them teeth" he sounds so angry and attacks you as soon as you insult him. He sounds so funny 🤣
My favorite is when you defuse a situation with a stagecoach driver and he backs down saying, "I don't have time to teach all you peckerwoods a lesson."

I love it when you greet an NPC and it immediately comes up saying defuse and they usually talk shit to you. I always antagonise them back and then beat them lol.
The amount of work an effort Rockstar went through for this feature is insane. It's like... wow. Just wow. Imagine how many dialogue trees must be in this game, a thousand or more?
I loved how arthur put his dukes up as he was coming down the hill at 0:58

Malloy is a damn a$$ h0le. Literally spit on his own oath by killing the woman he was having an affair with. No kind of man. I antagonize and ki11 him every time I see him. Glad he respawns so I can do it over and over.

At 8:35 See how the NPC on horseback races away from Arthur? Once in a while I'll see an NPC in my game galloping through the map somewhere in the same manner. Real jittery and nervously looking around looking like someone is after him. Now I know. He's already been antagonized by JMZack somewhere else on the map and is furiously trying to get away.
Now it makes sense coz It happens to me too

Arthur was much better with words than John throughout the series; John was always the hard headed one.
I love that tho it plays to Arthur and Johns characters John wasn’t the best with words we even saw it in his game so love that they stayed consistent with it but I love both voice actors and the work they put in

How did you avoid getting a wanted level during this?
They started the fight so it was self defense
They have to start the fight by you only antagonizing them. Just don’t antagonize many people in a row too frequently, otherwise somebody will get the law on you for “disturbing the peace”. You also have a limit of three people if you end up killing somebody in a town for self defense in a single save load, because if you do more than three, you’ll automatically be wanted.
