Dr. Joe DeMarco, chiropractor and owner of OcraMed Health, demonstrates how to stretch the TFL (tensor fasciae latae). Tightness in this muscle can result in hip restriction and inability to fire the glute muscles properly.

I'm having some soreness after running. 3 miles a day for the last month...I'm a new runner so I'm not going fast but obviously it's too much for my body. In addition to taking some time off from running (swimming instead) I was told that stretching isn't the key. I was told strengthening the area is the solution. I'm going to stretch and stregnthen.

Do you know why this muscle would get tense and cramp up? Is it related to my adductors because i feel tension there too

I have pain in my TFL muscle, even though I sit for a long time on the computer and I don't exercise regularly. Should I do stretch exercises or strength exercises to feel better?
