YOU are so much more competent, articulate, and more capable than Dave at Barnyard Bees!!!! Thank you Sarah, we need more beekeeper educators like YOU!!!!! I hope Dave watches and takes some notes.
More videos please. I just found you and it looks like you haven’t made a video in over a year. I have so much to learn. I’m just starting a garden this year for the first time and I’m wanting to bee keep too. Seems like you have a lot of knowledge to share. Thanks!
I took my first bee class last night and I’m really thinking of starting this year. Thank you for such a simple yet extremely informative video. Looking forward to watching more.
Great video and I watched the other one. You EXPLAIN and dont side bar a bunch of things that arent important. You go step by step and I really appreciate it. I hope you do more video for us beginners.... Thank you Liz from California
Hey Sarah! Thank you for creating this content. I have been humming and hawing over the idea of trying out beekeeping but now that I have sort of seen the basics from your videos, I think I would actually really like to give this a go and not just play with the idea in my head. Thank you for inspiring me to do this! These videos were really good!
The biggest thing I say to people who just start out, if you feel overwhelmed by the thousands of buzzing insects at any point, just walk away for a while. After a while it becomes calming but a lot of people are hardwired to be scared like I was!
@@SelfSufficientSarah Your advice is excellent Sarah, brilliant videos - I'd say you could have a lot more viewers if you'd more videos - get some up on your other self sufficiency projects! All the best from Ireland! :-)
Great video on the down to earth process of harvesting honey! I'd love to see more, especially on the problems one might encounter like virus and parasites.
08:50 you spinning them the wrong way, bees build comb about 17 degrees leaning to top, so you get better extraction if you spin it in a way where bottom of frame is leading and top of frame follows. You will also have less instances of comb braking while spinning.
Beekeeping is something I’ve been thinking about for a few years now and watching your videos makes me want to do it. It’s just the sound of them and the thought of being stung all the time haha how many jars did you end up getting from the 2 hives?
Hey Sarah, I enjoy watching your videos, and I'm interested in starting my backyard beekeeping. can you send me a link to where you get your bee supplies?

3:19...The most obvious sign I've ever come across from a beekeeper that they're doing it right 👌🏾
so very well done, both you and the bees, thx for another gem video
I guess it was heavy with the comment you made , made me laugh.

I had no idea! I’ll have a better look next time, thanks for the tip!
@@SelfSufficientSarah No problem I learned it after watching a video like yours and it does work better, i only have 3 frame extractor.

You get used to the sound, I find it relaxing now! I basically never get stung with the suit on! The amount of honey will depend on a lot of factors!
Great video. Looks like a real nightmare to clean your equipment when finished. Honey is incredibly sticky stuff!
TA ,just starting, hope your well ;)
Wasp and bee stings work the same ?as in I swell up with a wasp sting?
Great video, thanks. Sorry if I missed it, how often do you harvest the honey please?
It depends on the season, but where I am about every 5-6 weeks in the summer :)
@@SelfSufficientSarah they really are busy bees :-)
