There was only a handful of tracks written specifically for SSLP after Dre discovered him, other than that the album was basically a compilation of remixed/remastered “old” tracks. Shows how good Eminem really was that even such a perfectionist like Dre left most of his material untouched in terms of track list.
I try to keep it positive and play it cool, shoot up the playground and tell the kids to “stay in school” ‘cause I’m the one they can relate to and look up to better tonight I think I’ll write my biggest fan a “fuck you letter”
why in different tracks he has such a different voice. downright different. remember the infinite album, so the voice is completely different. and slim shady ep, also different. was that his real voice? And on the albums did he specifically make it squeaky?
in the song "Take the World With Me" was the first appearance of Slim Shady where Em was just transitioning from his Infinite voice to the Slim Shady voice. Initially Slim Shady was supposed to be dark and grim, when he hooked up with Dre, they felt his persona should be more light and funny. So he started rapping in more of a comical cartoony tone
they're not THAT different but this sounds more like his natural voice while on infinite he sounds more like he's doing a rapper voice (a nice PG rapper)
Dre produced THREE tracks on SSLP jesus christ give the Bass Brothers their credit bro. All Dre produced was My Name Is, Guilty Conscience and Role Model. Bass Brother produced the other 11 tracks including this one. On MMLP it's more evenly split with Dre having 6, Bass Brothers (also credited as FBT) have 7.
@@sews1523 Mel Man and Dre are both listed, but I agree if Mel Man did most of Role Model than Dre realistically produced 2 and a half tracks on SSLP lol
Infinite failed, he tried to off himself and failed at that too, then came back and decided to air all of his demos on tape. Basically. Infinite was him pretending he was okay.
this bassline gives this song a totally different vibe.
Agreed. It comes from "Turn My Back on You" by Sade.
On God bruh
So this was right before Dre discovered him. I thought that this song, Cum on everybody and Rock Bottom were specifically written for TSSLP.

This sounds dark af compared to the studio edit lol
I think people forget eminem real voice has always been deep the slim shady 99 voice was purposely higher pitched. This is his actual voice

This got more soul to it and definitely darker vibe. The LP version is slightly more pop and lighter
imagine a world where Em demos had a bitrate higher than 32kbps
probably a bad source and only leaked at low quality this is from mid 90s ffs mp3 was barely mainsteam
This was probably recorded on a crappy cassette tape. We’ll never get a higher “bitrate” than this.
@@bonymontana7100 fr its sad cuz these demos would be so cool in hq
@@bananabro980these weren’t recorded in a high quality studio
He was recording on DATs back then.
The comment about sending an FU letter to his biggest fan makes me think of Stan and the shit he later expresses guilt about
feels a lot slower than the released version and idk if i like that
He sounds High in this
he was... this was recorded 1997
Druggys for you!
@@loveinlatin yeah this was before the fame, he was stealing pills from his mom supposedly.
@@xanakinskywoker1817 uh no
@@WhiteBoiRick bruh he said it himself
He sounds so high on this
what if he was?
I heard a hint of a 97-99 Badboy vibes on the original but this reaffirms it way more
The beat is slower in this version if that makes sense
Yeah the song is slower in this version
Oh, put on 1.25 for the chorus lmao
Dope, man.

So did he rap on these first drafts, then before he dropped the Slim Shady EP he did them over again on a better beat, better mix, etc…

its his shady voice

Slim shady lp voice was high pitched with computer
Playback speed 1.25
Have you got "Fucking Crazy"? It's from the same demo. I can only find the studio/"Any Man" version from Soundbombing 2
Thank god for Dr Dre
They produced the album version too, they produced his best early tracks
Dre didn't do the final one

Damn this is actually better than the original version
The transformation of this guy from the infinite guy in just under six months is so strange. Where did it all come from?
Who knows? But the change is weird tho.
Infinite failed, he tried to off himself and failed at that too, then came back and decided to air all of his demos on tape. Basically. Infinite was him pretending he was okay.
We might never know. My guess is he knew he needed to rebrand himself and switched styles, the style he had on infinite was outdated imo
this cracks me the FUCK up 😂
Fucking flames
I would like to hear it unaltered. This sounds like it ran through inferior remastering. Please try again or upload the original unaltered file.
delusional thomas inspiration
This reminds me Offended
Hearing his very early stuff I can hear what Cage was talking about saying Em was stealing his style.
listened to pusherman once too often
Life gave him 1 lemon.

Why does if feel slower

Why is this so slow?
It's what they began with, they changed it up including the beat and that's how we have a pretty different version
This slow?
