Great tip! The admirable talents of traditional fly tiers notwithstanding, I think many purist notions when it comes to flies and tying flies are often guided by nostalgic fantasies. I imagine one day some purist minded person equally will be insisting that one should only use a particular type of rubber legs on a Chubby Chernobyl for some romanticised reasons or other. Thanks for sharing!

Love this comment - it's so true. For the record, I only use the finest, hand drawn and embossed rubber legs for my Chubby Chernobyls. ;)

Peter, very good tutorial. I believe this is the first time I have seen a video that demonstrates how to do Carrie Stevens style wings. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

Excellent Peter; I didn't want this video to end! I was waiting to see you tie a set of these onto a hook. So now I'm looking forward to seeing a pink feather-wing streamer on your channel soon!

Cool way of using UV resin. It looks like you are gluing the stems of the feathers rather the barbules on the feathers themselves. Is that correct?

I'm gluing the first few barbs and the stems for a secure contact. In the past i've tried stems only, but it wasn't reliable.

@@hooked4lifeca Thank you. Your method looks easier, more efficient & more likely to preserve the hackles’ flexibility than using the fabric glue right in the middle of the feathers.

And, I still use clear fingernail polish for my wings! Cheers! 👍
