I prefer gypsy wagons to tiny homes because they do not have a loft (when I am old, a loft could be dangerous), and the rounded roof helps to circulate the air for better energy efficiency. I hope to have my own little gypsy wagon someday, but until then, thank you for sharing this.
Nice music - I like how the parts where you show us your water and shower have rain sounds, very awesome :) Thanks for the tour - your caravan is beautiful, with so many little artistic touches.
OMG! This is one of the best caravans I've ever seen. Such a great use of space an everything you need is right in one room. BRAVO. Well done. I would give my next paycheck (and believe me I need my pay check) to live in a space a sweet as this caravan. Thanks for sharing.
Wow really really nice I've never seen a wagon with the shower in it too I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that, absolutely wonderful little home good luck to you I adore this very beautiful, best of luck !!!
The awning is cute but a porch would be more functional. A bench with hooks on one side to provide a place to take off your muddy boots and hang up raincoats and hats. And put your composting toilet on the other side to keep the smell out of the living space. Then you won't need that cheap plastic stick up air freshner by the head of your bed.
This 2 wheeled trailer could not possibly be pulled by horses. Chances are that it would burn down if it was ever used because the stove is right next to the bed covers. Strickly for show.
Where do you live?can you make a caravan the same as this to withstand all weathers, even tropical? How much in US dollars would it cost?I am in love with your caravan.
Now this is a home. Sleeping, cooking, showering, toilet, entertaining. Perfect for a minimalist. Only thing lacking is insulation, but I guess that would be considered a luxury!
Hi Rae - yes - the van IS insulated - 22mm foam in between the exterior and interior fibreglass layers. When the stove is on it gets warm quickly (sometimes too warm!) and stays warm for ages.
I collect rainwater from the roof and gutter it in to a small holding tank on the ledge at the tailgate end. Another similar tank is planned on other side, tap at base of tank. Otherwise you fill containers from an alternate source. Shower works with a 12V pump - you need to heat your water up first on the woodstove (installed since video)
We utilize river water in our shantyboat for cleaning and bathing in a similar fashion. (pix at floatingempire.blogspot.com if you're interested). Are you finding that you've adapted to the space more rapidly than anticipated (this has been our experience)?

if I could replace that composting with an incinerate toilet and move that range burner, way to close to the bed, I could see myself in this for travel purposes versus a hotel room.i could store a rolling table and luggage under the bed
What is the cost of a Gypsy wagon, with full size bed ,I h ave most everything to put in it a can you u use ix12s for outside and I have stainless steel counter and use a porta potty, and foam insulation around bed ,with reclaim wall covered, I want to tow it and 9 feet wide and 22ft long, !????
I have a small camper I want to put a roll top roof on my plan was to put ply wood face one the front and the back with the bow top shape then i want to run 1x2's the length of the trailer then I wanted to use corrugated tin for the actual roof which I intend on screwing to the 1x2's.I am inexperienced but want to try to make this work..ant advise ?
I did not construct this caravan, it was manufactured for me in a fibreglassing factory. There are websites with information on building your own gypsy van using timber corrug. iron etc. Try them for hints and advice.
The vid starts off like a horror movie.....someone skulking around outside....peeking in the window...then.....then....the ghostly door swinging open..then entering an EMPTY caravan. Aaaw maaaaan.
I think that this little caravan is one of my favorites out of even all the little houses I've seen, is cute , quaint and simple. Do you use screens in the windows or are the sheer curtains good enough to keep the bugs away . I'd love to know more about how it is built !
Yes it's not ideal, but i take every precaution to avoid risks and I have a fire blanket on hand, The cooker runs on meths and I run it usually on three quarter heat so the flame isn't large, Their were limited options for where it could fit in .
+Chris Wilson All I would do is put a piece of plywood with a decorative tin on the burner side, use a few washers to make an air space between the plywood and tin to allow the heat to escape.
I think it's beautiful...but I wouldn't have the stove where you have it located...store the toilet under your bed...and put your stove on that location .
The toilet is now on a roll in/out platform and kept under the bed behind the cutain. The woodstove now occupies the corner where the toilet was at time of making video.
I'm sick of this platform bed layout with the kitchen jammed against bed, dirty linen much. It's so claustrophobic but thanks for sharing your space, it is what it is.
I designed it, but contracted the build out to a Fibreglass Composites factory here in Tas (Penguin Composites) I also contracted out the Huon Pine joinery. I'm fitting out the interior and doing any embellishments. So far I've spent about $27,000 (Au)
Hellyer Gorge is in the Australian island state of Tasmania To take a shower now i have installed a mini wood burning stove, heat the water up and using a small 12 V pump driven camp shower, sit or stand in the 'wet' corner. The stove now sits where the porta loo was and the loo now rolls in and out of the 'under bed' storage space. I have also now put fabric and huon pine strips on the ceiling. Looking good. The magic Gypsy Caravan will feature at the 2014 Sheffield Steamfest weekend (Tas - Mar 8 - 10th)
Chris Wilson can we see the updated pictures of this caravan? I would love to see how the water for the shower is heated and pumped. Thank you. Beautiful, caravan! How long is it???
Being made of insulated fibreglass and Huon Pine - it can withstand wet weather. I plan to live in it in a very wet climate, so it had to be weather resistant. Tasmania's West Coast has a cool temperate climate - but high rainfall. How much it would cost in USA to build I cannot say. Find a company who specialises in fibreglass constructions and run it past them. The dimensions are 2.1 m at it's widest and length (minus the back deck/tailgate is 3.6m. The floor is treated marine ply.
Thanks for sharing guys really enjoyed watching.
I find myself coming back here cause its the best I have watched here.
This is absolutely Gorgeous ❤ I shouted for joy when I saw the shower!!!! Perfection 😊

So lovely…amazing job.
Having the flame cooker next to the bedding.... hope the owner is very careful...
That's nice and cozy looking.

Super CUTE!
Just beautiful and peaceful .... lovely. Surely magic happens within as well as without. Thank you for sharing.
love it Chris! What a lovely caravan and the setting is magical as well xox

Thank you!
Love the birds and crickets! Do they come with....? I want one
So excited to see a shower in it !! Thanks for sharing your home video with us. Blessings
Love the decor, screening and indoor conveniences. Plenty of storage as well.
I would add a corner washroom in the corner where the dressing table is...cassette toilet 2 keep it mobile. Otherwise very CHARMING. 😊☺👌👍👏
Very relaxing video, almost magical.Thank you for sharing!!!!
I totally loved it & the pace!!!!!
this is so awesome, I l loved your little caravan, have very good ideas!
Nice layout! ❤

Thank you for the guided tour of your super abode, I love it, I want one but who would look after my hubby? House wife from England
very cute furnishings! :)
Best one I've seen. Please do an update.

Love Vardos.

Just lovely, but I'm trying to figure out your water system, shower thingie there. How does that work? Is the outside tank a heater or just a cistern?
I collect rainwater from the roof and gutter it in to a small holding tank on the ledge at the tailgate end. Another similar tank is planned on other side, tap at base of tank. Beautiful
Nice, but the stove right next to the bed looks potentially hazardous to me...
Beautiful !
une chose est sur ,si vous allez au camping ,vous passerezvotre temps a faire visiter votre caravane .

It seems really spacious. What are the dimensions?
Beautiful work but I would not put stove close to bed, I would switch sink with stove....
Great video! What is the length of that vardo?
Width is 2.1m at its widest. the floor length is 3.4m - plus an extra 80cm when the back tailgate is down.
Nice caravan and nice music.. but it seemed slow. Happy for you. :)

Tropical birds, rain sounds, and magical stars were the perfect touch, the music not so much.
Stove and bed linen too close together.
Can you build one like this for me?
Is this a vardo tour or a romantic love scene?
where's the toilet that's imp or do you do it in open
Sorry, you lost me at the front door. Who wants to open 3 doors every time you come or go?
What is the music?
was that the stove so close to the bed, blankets, etc.? Who else thinks this a fire hazard?
+Frugal Mama right on
My thought also.
How big is this?
Hallo, idd what a magic wagon WoW WoW WoW mvg Gina

Everythings there. Society has always made fun of gypsies and now we're copying them. Interesting turn around.
Bliss ! Hi Chris is it somewhere in Australia?
Hellyer Gorge is in North West Tasmania - Australia's southern island state
aww cool I mean really cool lolz thanks !
can i buy this
I'm not sure having the cooker right next to the bed is a great idea.

You know, if this had a 4 thumbs up, I'd click on it. This is exactly to the T , my kind of trailer.

Could have done without the music.

Who would put the gas stove right at the side of the bed... 🥴🤪😂😂😂
Hob too close to bedding
What a very plain gypsy house.
Looking for info, not a wannabe music video that did neither.

Oh my god...the music is making this video awful....
So you have never heard of a mute button, or volume control obv
