very beautiful agile coloratura, and very good diction and phrasing. this is why she is the prime coloratura soprano in the world today and is why she is the principle in many roles at the met and la scalla
Grazie. Una tua nuova ammiratrice di 75 anni
She definitely wasn’t flat lol. As someone with perfect pitch. She actually was coming in a bit over in like two spots but not an issue for me at ALL .. this is wonderful and she colored this beautifully.
She's wandering around in some land of pitch, never really on one. She certainly isn't listening to the pianist. Lots of pressure on the voice, and spread vowels that cause her to go flat. A lot of missed notes. She's perfect for the Met.
really poor evaluation, she actually catches more notes than most sopranos who perform this arias do, the trills and coloratura phrasing throughout was way superior, and her pitch is just fine, her voice is just that way and is obviously amplified by the mic
She has tension in her lower jaw, I think that's what causes most of her problems (the flatness, the poor pitch and the "muscling" of the phrase). I am also young and poor. Unfortunately I'm white, shame on me - but then at least I'm a woman:D Do you think judging athletes for poor physical preparation is "bitching" too, Lucas? It's their job. Opera is like singing Olympics, either you have proper techinque or you don't, of course people are gonna notice.
sutherlandfan64 She's at the Metropolitan now.I'm sure she must not be that bad. The one you're listening to now she is performing at Carnegie Hall. I'm sure she couldn't sing in those venues if she was as bad as you say she is.
Akha Tutu it doesn’t take an expert to know when and that she misses the pitch and sings with approximate accuracy. Just the ability to read sheet music lmfao
The aria isn’t well prepared . Pity, pretty Pretty . It was incredible difficult to listen to your HARD WORKING on the stage , but not excellent SINGING .
@Ms Sholomey You are, sadly but truly, absolutely correct, and too kind. She really does not understand this although she has studied opera for so long. Listening to this simply ain't fair to musicians. OK....she was born with good vocal, chords and has been given good teachers but...... Ever heard Bartoli do this???? oh dear.......
At times she produces lovely tone, and she's beautiful to look at, but she has nagging intonation issues, periodically runs out of breath, and has no trill. In the cabaletta she "skates" over the fioritura, which is amateurish. This music is incredibly difficult to sing well, and she does try very hard -- but it also looks like it. As for the pianist, how did he ever get onto this stage?

The tone is such a pleasure to the ear...
her "ah non credea mirarti" wrecked my heart!!!!!!!

I’m a jazz guy listening to this performance. Wow… you opera people are rough critics! 😂😂

Ohhh, you are mean!!! She is good! and her voice is beautifull and warm!
que maravilla de voz hermosa
im not hearing the intonation/pitch issues you all are complaining about. i think theres bias here.....
There is
Yes, and it's coming from you.
frequently OUT OF PITCH...
Thank you for saying this , I didn't want to say it because I feel I may be too demanding , but this is a demanding music. Hard to listen her !!!
She's perfect
A fan of her singing, but would love to hear a real trill and better pitch tbh.

Steven Honig 😆 lol
I thought the pianist was off
Dull and approximate... and sometimes flat. Shame.

Shirley Richardson I've heard quite a few bad singers in opera houses across the world, including the Met...
sutherlandfan64 It's sad to hear that.
Thank you!! These TH-cam 'experts' are annoying.

Pretty flat. But she's improved greatly since 2014.
Bellini non e' Offenbach. Ne devi far molta di strada. Studia.
fare strada per andar dove? met ? scala ? ROH? Wiener Staatsoper ? Opera Bastille? ops ma c'e' gia' stata? dove deve andare ? Mah...

She really struggled through this aria.
struggle? that s not the easiest aria to sing. there may be stuggling but what a result!
