- This is our anniversary trip to Mayrhofen, Austria - 18/19 February 2024.
Accommodation: Pension Ekertauerhof - lovely place, quiet, out of the way, easy access to Horberg Bahn.
We are early-years snowboard + skier (only started in 2020...) and decided to start this stuff post 40.
I was on a camber board for the first time - and adapted well, although the narrows/flats and variable surface types (granular (yuck!), ice (harrumph), and huge amounts of powder (awesome, but crazy)) made the transition more challenging.
My good lady was on skis and challenged herself on those Austrian Blues (you know... the ones tinged with red... you know who you are: Rastkogel Blue 63, Hintertux Blue 17...).
Anyway... a great week and will definitely go back, winter or summer; the Zillertal is beautiful at any time.
