no one can beat gasquet attacking his backhand. He can tear you literally apart BEST backhand in tennis history. As for the rest of his game ....thats another story
he needs to pull the trigger on that backhand way more often. these are highlights and they're great, but in a match, he rarely actually unleashes and attacks. he's very deep behindt he baseline and backhands are typically loopy.
Gasquet was using a 100-sq.inch racquet head here. This shows what Roger could have done had he switched earlier. Only from 2015, the racquet switch and game revamp, have we seen this type of efficient aggressiveness from Federer at all. Pity!
i thought i'd see the backhand winner to beat Fed at Monte Carlo. Gasquet and Wawrinka my favorites, Thiem and Shapovalov close seconds, and maybe Muster.
Backhands not in any particular order...yet: Edberg, Gaudio, Gasquet, Dimitrov, Federer, Wawrinka, Robredo...They are all great. In my view, the two who stamd out are: Gaudio & Wawrinka
gasquet is a world class player but his margin of progression is not technical anymore but strategic and creativ .. he too often wait for his opponents to make mistakes and too much less agressive..
It’s not a sneak attack. The reason why Roger’s is called a sneak stack is because he literally jogs into his. Gasquet was just a very quick split step followed by a backhand, and then he moved into the net.
Federer runs into the net, and then the opponent serves, and by the time his opponent makes his split step back to the baseline, Federer’s already almost finished the point. Federer is: run-to-the-net > hit > win Gasquet’s was: split > hit > run to the net
except...he still lost most of these matches...i mean his backhand is very aesthetically pleasing, but its just not as effective as say wawrinka, because he doens't take it on the rise often enough and chooses to stand back
some1rational just because his forehand is bad enough, even with that forehand his backhand still makes him grand slam semifinalist.already tell everthing.
some1rational, he didn’t lose this because he supposedly has a worse backhand, even though a lot of people strongly disagree. This video proves that he’s got the best one handed backhand in the world. This isn’t a collection of different matches, this is one match, and look at all those backhands. Tennis is more than just a backhand. Losing a match doesn’t reflect how good your backhand is. There are strategies, and stuff like that. Gasquet’s backhand is so much better than Federer’s and Warinkas.

Long live the one handers!
Gasquet may not be the greatest overall tennis player but his one handed backhand is superlative!
no one can beat gasquet attacking his backhand.
He can tear you literally apart
BEST backhand in tennis history.
As for the rest of his game ....thats another story
+shortyyys yep imagine if Gasquet had a forehand and mental toughness... Then again with some "if"s anyone could be incredible...
Nadal has a 16-0 record against Gasquet by attacking his backhand
Actually his serve is very very interesting despite its lack of sheer power. And his volleys are excellent.
@@caserio20yes he is a great serve and volleyer and plays good on grass.
“Literally”?
Best 1 hander ever!
I would disagree. The best one handed backhand is probably either Ljubicic (current Federer coach) or Federer himself.
No way, Wawrinka is the best ever...
Wawrinka
@@gugi233 Hell no.
@@dormosev Absolutly not.
"Long live the one handers." - John McEnroe
I like how we're watching great backhands from Gasquet all through the match but he was behind the score all the way till he lost!
wonderful! one hand backhand is so elegant
Those angles that Casquet is able to produce with one-handed backhand, amazing
ab love gasquets backhand one of the glories of the game
4:26 Federer vs Nadal wimbledon 2008 tiebreak
haha that's the exact same point indeed!
Yeah lol lol like this in my memory 😂
hahahah yes
I love how this video has such beautiful backhands and then I look at the score line to see gasquet getting straight setted
2:37 insane backhands
That point was incredible
yep, best technique I've ever seen on a one-handed backhand
Gasquet, uno de los mejores revéses a una mano del circuito y el q logra mejores ángulos.
Incredible form. Thanks for the upload.
So eye-pleasing!
I could watch 2:42 for the rest of my life and still enjoy it
Kevin Mao Progressively sharper angles inside the court. So sweet.
My fav backhand of all times
Lee Holton Thanks a Lot! 👊
4:04: Poetry in Motion
Long, sweeping swing. Love her ready position, how he holds the racquet
Okay NOBODY hits more backhand winners than Gasquet!!! There is no debate that Gasquet has the best backhand!!
Super!!!!. Backhand before
PERFECT FOR HIGH BALL N1 👌🎾🥇
really nice backhand one handed..gasquet elegant backhand
2:37 four backhands following, just awesome !!!
That match against Rafa is the type of play Roger needs to do.
This is a backhand to rival Wawrinka and Federer
Raymond Alcantara one year later... today's wimbledon said you were right (at least vs Wawrinka)
federer has one of the worst backhands of all top players
rafa forehand = Gasquet backhand
he needs to pull the trigger on that backhand way more often. these are highlights and they're great, but in a match, he rarely actually unleashes and attacks. he's very deep behindt he baseline and backhands are typically loopy.
Beautiful!
She called him "grosjean" at 1:40
It's at 1:40, and the commentary got cut off at "backhand from..." to when the commentator was talking about Grosjean
Shame Gasquet could never put it all together
First clip is SABR, sudden attack by Richard
Phwarrrr, blistering tennis.
Gasquet was using a 100-sq.inch racquet head here. This shows what Roger could have done had he switched earlier. Only from 2015, the racquet switch and game revamp, have we seen this type of efficient aggressiveness from Federer at all. Pity!

Forget the backhand, look at those volleys.
that shot @ 2:05, how on earth does he hit that ball!
凄い片手バックハンド。
And no player seems to think "don't play on his fucking backhand".
i thought i'd see the backhand winner to beat Fed at Monte Carlo. Gasquet and Wawrinka my favorites, Thiem and Shapovalov close seconds, and maybe Muster.
What did Novak Djokovic say in his press conference???
Djokovic said "regardless of himself being ranked number 1, Nadal is still the best player."
+Lee Holton The best? Not one of the best? Federer, Samprass...No?
He meant active player, and was probably talking about 2013 only
In terms of form, for that year. 2013 was Nadal's year
See 2018
You have a video of Gasquet hitting high backhand? I am looking to see how pros handle the one-handed backhand on high balls?
Sorry. I can’t think of a specific one. I’d say we would just have to move to position so it’s not so high at contact.
Having a higher take back helps. You can hit it on rise as well, or you can try to hit it as you jump, but that would be difficult to stabilize.
h'es the only player i've seen hitting the ball before bounce on the backhand side
2:40 my

1:58 This shot is why Gasquet has the second best one handed backhand of all time (right after Henin).
Does anybody know where it is possible to get that Gasquet's awesome shirt???

1st point : Sneak attack by Gasquet!
Federer is: run-to-the-net > hit > win
Gasquet’s was: split > hit > run to the net
This video and score board totally contradict each other.......😂
except...he still lost most of these matches...i mean his backhand is very aesthetically pleasing, but its just not as effective as say wawrinka, because he doens't take it on the rise often enough and chooses to stand back

his backhand is awesome, but sadly that forehand... lewl
Kuerten in my opinion had a better backhand , Anyway they have the same motion .
no he did not
Well it is your opinion and i respect , but i don`t agree.
Not to mention a much better game overall.
markriobr in my opinion your a fucktard cause gasser got da best backhand
john speedy Pretty sure you don`t even Know how to handle a tennis racket even in your forehand.

Great but what's the point if you can't win the match?
Exactly.
nice backhand, but the eventual score result sucks...
Losing in 3 close sets to 2013 Nadal is nothing to be ashamed of
@@LJShaun Yes it is.
I guess all the OMG shots don’t win the match.
Grosjean? 😅
And the winner is... 😂😂
Backhand is ok. Why all the fuss.
