If the Yankees could have managed a split in LA and they split the first two in NY which they did then game 5 would have been a temporary setback and not the epic embarrassment it was. Yankees fan keeps avoiding the elephant in the room with the 2024 WS. It's not the 5th inning in game 5 that's the problem. It's dropping the first three games to the Dodgers. If the Yankees could have managed a split in LA and they split the first two in NY which they did then game 5 would have been a temporary setback and not the epic embarrassment it was. This series was lost when the Dodgers took the first three games.
