2:35 honestly this quote hit pretty hard.
today, after spending like 20-25 minutes on opening/closing a f-cking fridge because i was unsure whether i had accidentally opened it or not, i got so fed up with my OCD that i've chosen to give up with improving it, so for some time now i'll be trying medicine that dampens it.
got the diagnose around 4 years ago, and knew that now would be time to really work on it because now i've got the time, but i can tell there's no progress - i've tried improving it for long now but limited avail.
the fridge part may sound like a lie because "how the hell can you spend THAT MUCH TIME on closing a damn fridge!?!?" and the thing is, OCD makes you not trust what you know is reality, and after some time I got so used to hearing the sound of the fridge close that my brain didnt pay as much attention to it, making the whole thing worse.
only way to really "improve" a trigger, is wait till its replaced by another one, and if it doesnt, you gotta spend very long training yourself to pay less and less attention to that specific thing, so it triggers less anxiety over time
