A lot of negativity towards the look of the DBX. Personally, I think AM nailed it! The DBX successfully carries over many of the iconic external attributes of their cars which makes it immediately identifiable as an Aston Martin.

I don't like SUVs full stop, bar the ones that accept they are bricks and don't try to hide it. Much rather have an estate.

But that is exactly why it gets critized. It looks like a Kuga where AM just put a Vantage rear and an Aston Martin frotngrill grill on and now is like "this is a totally well designed Aston Martin SUV". The fact that they just put the Vantage back on this makes this even more ridiculous. This car is not even able to stand for its own in the AM lineup. And the interior is nice, but still not as good as a Bentayga imho. Since it is right between Bentayga and Urus with its baseprice i don't see why it would be worth it.
You cant really use the Ford card. Everyone knows Ford are the ones that copied Aston with the grille. The bentayga is nice don't get me wrong but looks a bit teadituonal/old fashioned for my liking. Personally I prefer the contemporary approach.
I feel like I’m the only one who loves the way this looks. I bet given some time, more ppl will agree.

This Aston Martin a real design triumph. It manages to to take all the cliches of a luxury SUV and turn out something fresh and truly glorious. I think it's a piece of art set to mechanics.
I thinks it's a little odd looking but I'm not against it.

Trying to make an SUV look good is like trying to get a politician to not lie. It's in the DNA. Only SUVs that aren't ugly are the ones that accept they will never look good and just try to be as butch as possible.

For a small company I think they’ve done a fantastic job. It looks superb.
I think it looks way better than a lot of the suv offer out in the market place at the moment. Luxurious interior to boot.
I do like the front of the car, and the interior is wonderfull, but I really think the rear is a let down

@@F1ll1nTh3Blanks A Bentayga is ugly whereas this is just bland. Not sure what the bigger sin is? I think the Urus is the best of the uber-expensive SUVs although even that isn't as nice as the original concept car.

Interior is stunning and some of the exterior is nice aswell. Some of the body panels and fixtures seem a bit misaligned which I find surprising.

I hope your wifey and son are doing well...I must also say I really like the Aston Martin fleet... Great looking automobiles... The trick to having an awesome looking SUV is to get the front end looking like one of their sports car ... Hopefully Mr JWW will get a broken in car so he can boot it in the guts.

I think it's a stunning design, inside and out, and love all the attention to detail. Shame that shelling out £40k a year on school fees means that what could be the perfect family car is out of reach for me!

This is the best looking SUV. It’s fantastic. Not sure how you could ever class this as ugly. It’s proportions are spot on, very short overhangs, that roofline. The side profile is excellent.
Josh Charlie I agree, it’s unquestionably the best looking SUV on the market, but that’s among poor competition. Being an SUV, it still looks bloated and massive, and it does not fit into Aston’s lineage of elegant grand tourers.
Rohan Iyer there’s a good argument to be made that the SUV is in essence the modern equivalent of a grand tourer. They are fast, can seat four with luggage, offer a quiet and comfortable ride over long distances and multiple types of terrain. This is a car with a unique chassis which is quite something at this price level and volume.
Josh Charlie You’re conflating luxury cars as a broad category with grand tourers, for which these luxurious attributes are countered with performance credibility and sensuality. This may handle well for a nearly 5000 lb SUV, but does it handle better than a significantly less gargantuan DB11? That remains to be seen, but most likely, no. To add to this, there’s nothing emotional or evocative about a bloated SUV platform, which is rooted in utilitarian practicality.
Again, kudos to Aston for going all out with their efforts, the result of which will sell volumes at the cost of their image.
Interesting that even with bonded aluminium, it's still almost half a ton heavier than the Alfa Romeo Stelvio QV? Can't wait to see those two cars compared on track.

Like they were trying to hard simultaneously not to go too far.. and they succeeded kinda. It looks boring and too much at the same time but it's not totally hideous.

Second of all: you probably already said something about this, but i was wondering if you're interested in electric vehicles at all and be doing some reviews about it?
Few brands so far were able to create crossovers or SUV's combining beauty and sportiness. Stelvio Q, Levante Trofeo, Macan, Urus and this are IMO the only models which have achieved that.
How do you compare its interior to Urus'
Looks like a lot of seat room in rear, but are you about 5'9 or 10" max?

The great thing about this car is that is that you can't see the rear when driving it. Also would love to know engine combinations, as given current attitude to emissions/pollution etc., are they planning a hybrid/electric option.

Agreed but aston martin uses real wood(some car manufacturer uses a very thin vinyl) and really thick yet soft leather to kick off those luxury interior feel. These add a lot of weight to the car!

@@shaiheimmcrae192 Mercedes GLC63 AMG is much lighter at 1900KG. BMW X3M, GLC63 AMG and Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quad are perfect sized and weigh SUVs
