Ryobi RCS2340B AC chainsaw

Showing a potential issue with the brake on the Ryobi RCS2340B AC corded chainsaw.
I bought the chainsaw about 3.5 years ago but hadn't used it much. Cutting some small (less than 100mm diameter) tree branches, it started sparking. I think the brake was not properly disengaging and so caused the motor to overheat and short out. The problem (brake failing to disengage) might have been exacerbated by not fully squeezing the trigger. I got a replacement under (the quite outstanding 4 year) warranty which seems like it doesn't have the same problem. But I'll keep an eye on it and maybe modify it in the future if the brake starts to drag.
