Pye, the clarity with which you communicate your creative knowledge is matched by a warmth of personality that makes these videos a joy to watch. Thank you.
...nobody teaches this and it's soooo frustrating to me. I know my way around a camera pretty well, but some of these more technical types of tricks and effects are things I still have yet to conquer and really figure out. THANK YOU soooo much for doing this for us!! I would sure give the world for you to also do a couple of videos teaching us how to photograph sparkler exits, light trails with wedding reception dance photos, how to photograph those cigar smoke photos of the guys on wedding day, and how to get that hair spray shot when the bride is getting ready. I'd also love to learn how to do some of those trick photos that so many of you do on wedding days - the reflection, shooting through things, bokeh lights, ring shots with an extra fun flair, etc. A super fun photographer that does a lot of this stuff is Jason Martin with Concept Photography. This guy has some super cool photography tricks and effects and I still have yet to figure out how he does a lot of them.
Wow! It’s content like this that keeps my photography love affair alive. I can’t wait to experiment with some of these methods. Thanks! Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you im new to this but im very innovative. Your tips are very well put together. For anyone to put a 👎 is just a hater. This is very informative and I appreciate you taking time from your day to help other become better. THANKS!
Thanks Pye. Great tutorial as usual. I have to admit that I feel compelled to try that back lighting now. While I only have a few speedlites, I have enough gels to hopefully pull off what you did there. Oh...and the reflection shots too. Looking forward to giving them a try!
Fantastic content again Pye. We have just gone through a rainy period and I just didn't go out but the next time, I will be grabbing my Godoz V1s and heading out to recreate some of these techniques. Thank you and keep creating

Caveat re: flashes, output, and filters......NO MATTER what your flash is rated at, you must consider the filters- and their light STOPPING effect, diminished output. So that 500w flash/bare head, with (1) CTO filter/full stop= 1 stop less; that 500w head is now a 250w. Throw two full cut filters on and= 1/125w. (equiv 2 speedlights) Moral of the story kids: go big or go home. Get the most juice you can afford. You can always cut power, but it's impossible to add more.
Don't despair, Man, models will flow again soon. You may have some big business in newborns in about 5 to 10 months... I'd look into that. BTW, other than when you mention it at the beginning of the video, I can't see your name written anywhere around here. Check it out. Wanna be known? Write it big. Just a thought... Take care and thank you for your time and great work.

Never and "um" or "uh". This guy is really articulate. Thank you for teaching me how to be a better photographer.
Awesome closing! 🤣
What kinds of flash I can buy for rainy day back ground?
Do you have any modifier on that 600W you’re using for the sunburst at the end? Bare bulb?
I've been in and out of Seattle a lot, so I knnow what you mean about the weather.
Pye, can you do more on hard light modifiers like the zoom or magnum?
Cinematic
Dear sir, which lens used to the rain drop photo
How do you protect your flash from rain when using as a back light? U can't make someone stand behind with an umbrella..
This guy's voice is ASMR. He could read the Tax code and put accountants to sleep.
Pye, when you talk about ETTL this means having brighter shadows rather than darker right?
what's the difference between 'backlight' and 'golden hour'? same same technique
Please provide the raw images which you edit in your vedios... editing those images with ourself can improve our editing skills😅😅

Which camera are you used for these images ?
I wonder, what these people think about their fake sunset wedding photos, say 10 years later.
