  • Later this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping are scheduled to attend the BRICS leaders’ summit in Kazan, Russia. Will there be a bilateral meeting between the two leaders? Higher the level of talks, the better it is, says China specialist Jayadeva Ranade.
Speaking to StratNews Global Editor-in-Chief Nitin A. Gokhale, Ranade said though Xi has avoided meeting Modi so far (since the LAC standoff in Eastern Ladakh began in 2020), any meeting between the two would be a good step. It will at least indicate that the two countries are behaving in a mature fashion, he added. Tune in for more.

Will there be an official declaration of war? Most likely not but unofficially India is at war. At the same time, Indian economy is dependent on Chinese imports. Just look at the trade numbers from 2022 onwards. Indian imports pay the bills for the defense infrastructure buildup on Chinese side. India will never move at the speed it needs to move. Compare the production rate of Tejas to the production rate of J20. Tejas mark 1A production hasn't even started. Even if it does, it will not exceed 24 per year. J20 has reached 100 per year. India right now has zero capability to make the chips, jet engines and several other critical products. Jet engines and chip manufacturing are still on paper. These industries will never take root without help from US. US is willing to help but there will be conditions attached. If India insists on maintaining its "neutrality", it will end up being isolated. Sooner or later US and China are going to clash over Taiwan. At that time Indian will not be able to look the other way and continue importing Chinese goods.

very easy to calculate, the 90% of Indians (1.26 billion) with average income of $2 a day, which is UN's poverty line, reason is 10% of top Indians own 77% of India wealth, wealthy is difficult to calculate so use GDP, assume India GDP is $4 trillion, since 77% for the top 10%, rest of 90% shares rest of 23%, which is $ 920 billion, divided by 1.26 billion, that is $750 a year, or $2 a day

Simple Question: Can India sever Tibet if China decides to move forward?
Second question: if China agrees to move back to pre 2020 points, will India need to give access to Indian markets as a consequence? If yes, then wouldnt China have achieved its objectives of greater access to Indian markets?

Fact of the matter here is the Chinese are sitting on Indian land since April 2020 in Demchok and Depsang, some estimate they are occupying 4000 sq km approx. and they are effectively blocking 26 out of 65 PP points around the area for the Indians which they used to patrol pre. 2020. The Indians are not pronouncing this as this will badly affect to their socalled muscular policy under Modi's 56 inches. Instead they are saying status quo which is not going to happen at all even after the 30 round of military talks. Thus the Indians are making fool of the Indian public since April 2020.
