I’m 48 now and have had a lifelong love affair with outrun ever since playing it in the arcades in Blackpool in the 80s. I also had the soundtrack on cassette that came free with an early issue of CVG. In my opinion it’s the only perfect game that exists. It’s just hypnotic, the gameplay, the graphics, the blue sky and the greatest music ever - even now it evokes so many memories every time I play it. It’s a game that takes you back to that time, back to the 80s. It’s so bittersweet to play it.
I completely understand the points you make matey… Honestly just so much fun replaying it… I would go as far to say that the Outrun soundtrack is one of the best video game soundtracks too…. Another game that has a similar effect for me is Double Dragon…. Awesome game and soundtrack too 😉

Wow. Such nostalgia. Final Fight, Turtles, Daytona, Time Crisis, such great memories, those cabinets were stunning, that place must be worth an absolute packet. Some very rare stuff in there. Love the Taito games, they have so many classics. 2 of my favourite machines I didn't see was Total Carnage and WWF Superstars. But wow. Incidentally enough OG, I won an auction on eBay the other day for a mint Nemesis on Gameboy. Love it 😃 Glad Mrs OG had a good one 🤙
My fav arcade game was the sit down version of space harrier which I actually completed while on holiday in The Isle Of Wight when I was about 14 years old nearly 40 years ago 😁
Cheers matey, appreciate you commenting… As we know these old arcade games are still amazing today especially on this original hardware 😀 OutRun is still magical 😎

It made me look into buying the machine, although after seeing the prices I decided to stick with the version I have on my phone for now 😆
Went here a couple of weeks back. Absolutely superb. Only small gripe I had was that the Track and Field video game didn't keep the records and hi-scores, so everything was EEE, FFF and GGG on the world records. I fancied a crack at some of them but it wasn't to be...
What a great place! Had no idea it would be so full of cabs. Like an arcade museum albeit playable! Chase Hq 😮. Thought the Taito mechanical game with the metal ball you both played was really cool. And some nice 🍺’s on tap too mate 🍺😊
That Ice Cold Taito machine was great and a machine I have been looking to play for a while.... Read and heard so much about it over the years that is was great to actually see one !!!!

Great video mate. brought back some memories as a teen.
56 now and still love playing them. you mentioned defender,
i herd somewhere it's impossible to finish no idea if it's true.
or not . i think my one of my favourite games is Kungfu master.
but yep like i said though great video 👍👍
Love Kung Fu Master and still play it regularly myself 😉🍺
@@OGDuffy Nice one an arcade attendant once kicked me off Kung Fu Master. and said i had bee n on it to long. with only putting one credit in. i completed it about 3 times 😂
Loved the cold beer game 🔥🔥🔥
It was such a good game 😉
Fantastic video OG, ive told my mates to check your channel out. ❤
Thanks matey... Appreciate you doing that for me 😉🍺
As a celebration of 1942s 40th Birthday in November, I'm going to all 3 Arcade Clubs in 1 day and 1cc,ing 1942 at each venue
Wow that sounds the nuts matey... Good luck and an awesome achievement !!!!!!!
Absolutely brilliant Video, great place definitely going to visit soon. Only complaint you need to do some practice on Chase HQ level one 😮lol subscribed and thumbs up.
I know matey I think I was just overwhelmed by all the machines 😂
That’s my excuse 😉
Cheers for the sub… drop vids every Tuesday and Friday at 6pm 😉
only games that fascinated me in the Arcades in the 80s in my Teens were Dragons Lair 1 & 2 and Space Ace such a shame that side of gaming never changed the game, and produced by Don Bluth.. i got those games for my tablet off Google Play.. stills plays em now and fascinates me Dirk the Daring the Knight and Daphne his damsel in distress AMAZING
I always struggled with Dragons Lair... Found it really difficult but the whole animation of it had me transfixed !!!!!
oh I must go there, that place looks totally awesome, its like stepping back into the arcades in the 80's and 90's back to my youth! I wish arcades were like that nowadays. What are the prices of the beers, are they expensive as they have a captive audience, i'd imagine they would be?
£4.55 for punk ipa which is a premium beer so not bad. Entrance was £16 free play all night.
@@OGDuffy Thanks, thats a pretty good price for punk IPA. Can't wait to go next time i'm in the area. Shame I live to far away in Norwich.
That Arcade looks so good i hv just booked an Airbnb for me and my mate! Also never been Blackpool. Cant wait!
Well done matey... I know you will have an awesome time!!!! You gotta visit Coral Island too..... 😎🍺
@OGDuffy yes it's on the list! Lol
That place looks amazing
It’s awesome matey
Loved that duffy buddy ❤👊🕹 great to see you both having fun on the games bud. Good score on 1942. You should of had a go on outzone bud that's a great game 😃
Too many games... Not enough time ! 😎😉🍺
Defender's audio was booming, it always stood over all the others. But yeah I agree, Defender is NAILS to play.
Oh yes you know it matey 😉
Think I've just found a new mate!!! - hitting the bar as a priority, going straight in for the premium strength ale, sorting the missus out with a soft drink, then checking out the retro games of a "certain" generation. Also, a southern man trying to survive in the North West (just like myself). Very well done sir. Very well done indeed. Cheers!.
Hi matey….. glad your principles are like mine 😉😎🍺
Love a pint and retro gaming so all good 😉
you should do promo for Arcade Club as youve absolutely sold this place to me :D
Cheers matey a lot of people have said they want to visit on the back of my video matey 😉
I played chase HQ 2002, which was the start of retro really.
A great game 😉
@@OGDuffy retro is great, monaco gp 1980 the very best game loved it.
Did they have Kung Fu Master there? One of my all-time favourite arcade games.
Not in this branch but probably in Bury…. Don’t know if they swap the games about every now and then?
I did about half hour on Outrun and Op Wolf and about 2 hour on the Mando pin when i was there ,,,, Love these Arcade Club venue's ,,,,,Cool vid mate
Cheers matey so many classic games and I can see why you spent your time on those machines matey... Classics !!!!
Astro Blaster was my favourite ever game , first arcade machine I knew that talked to me . Spent so many 10ps in on it in the Dalmeny hotel in St Annes next to Blackpool . Is this place kid friendly ?
Hi matey yes you can take kids some nights check their website as may be different for school holidays etc 😉
Nemesis is my favourite game. Defender though is impossibly difficult
Both greats but agree with you on Defender buddy 😉😀
Best channel for retro gaming in UK
BAR NONE!
WOW thanks matey... Really do appreciate such a kind and positive comment 😎
Holy moly blackpool has aliens 😮😊 I'm definitely going there
It would be rude not too 😉
Are these original machines? look brand new 😮
All originals matey and definitely worth a visit 😎🍺
thats so impressive - you see these mame 100 in 1 machines and they just dont do what those machines do - they are the real machines , what a great place
I know exactly what you’re saying matey… I have a Mame Bartop which I love but the sounds and controls and the whole feel of the originals is amazing 😀🍺
@@OGDuffy that arcade looks like a real arcade ... those mame machines just dont have that feel of an old machine - I enjoy playing retro arcade games on my macbook pro but its not the same.
