  • I’m comparing the linear glide bearings from Igus to a typical glide ball bearings. They are Ø30mm bearings and I’m trying to use the "Drylin" bearing RJM-01-30 in my linear SFX-100 actuator. The main focus is smooth and quite operation .

Thank you for the comparison! Do you know if the polymer bearings will have a shorter lifespan than the metal bearings?

Hello.I watched this video of yours with interest. I am about to make actuators similar to those of the sfx-100 project but with a 90x90 profile. I wanted to know if you think Igus bearings such as this or www.igus.it/product/1185 I can use this instead of the LMEK30UU bearing. for fixing it is not a problem because for example this www.igus.it/product/990 has an external diameter of 45mm and fits perfectly inside the 45x45 aluminum profile. What do you think about it?

I’m using also a 9090 Bosch Rexroth profile for my SFX actuators. As for the linear guide bearing I’m using a Igus RUM-01-30 ( for a Ø30mm shaft ) cut in half ~32 mm long. OD Ø47mm. ... pressed into the bottom plate and for good measures a M4x20 set screw from the side .

@@vwkrebs Thanks for your reply.Does the igus RUM-01-30 linear bearing have the same robustness and load resistance characteristics as the LMEK30UU metal ball bearing? I mean ... if well inserted into the profile can it replace it without problems and moreover with the great advantage of being quieter?

Yes you can replaced it ... no problem. But there is virtually no wear on the bearing . It will last a very long time .

@@vwkrebs Do you happen to have an STL for inserting these to the SFX 100?
