As always, brilliant video. You certainly have me eyeing out a Clan now! I am so curious about the HM7000 problems you're experiencing, I need to conduct some testing on my own end. Interestingly, I had similar issues with one of these placed in my Class 37 from Bachmann. Time to do some sleuthing. Good job again, your reviews are always honest and frank and I appreciate them immensely. Hylt
Good honest review. Had a hornby decoder put in my p2 recently and I had the same issue with points. I swapped it out for a lais dcc decoder and the loco no longer stalls like at all. Smooth as silk without the hornby decoder.
Great reiview, I have britannia from this era - very fragile and that loco/tender connection is super annoying, great detail though. In terms of your dcc issues, it will be the terrible pickup quality on this era of Hornby models Id guess
Hi Scott, great video. The Clan is beautiful, the green is striking, and aesthetically I’m not that bugged about the vibrant orange as it make the green “pop”, in my opinion. What also pops out to me is the line running on your left thumb’s fingernail. Apparently that’s a sign of potential skin cancer. Please have that checked, as if it’s found out too late, I’m afraid results can be quite dire.
Melanonychia, to be precise. It can be benign or malignant & occurs more commonly in those with dark skin. Crucially, this is (I think) what got Bob Marley. Needs investigation.
Wow, Hornby made a chip that only sucks, not a chip that’s unreliable and their BR green is not eye watering-ly bad! Sorry to come off as completely unimpressed. The Hornby Clan is a good model, but Hornby is infamous for bad DCC for a reason. The last well though out command control that they did was the Zero-1. Your layout cannot be held at fault, considering that Hornby designs everything to work on Sam’s Train’s layout, as that is a large part of their target market, that being people who watch Sam’s Trains. I like your reviews. They’re a good intermediate of Sam and Tony Wright, and it’s always good when the reviews are balanced and not overly positive. An overly positive review can be less than helpful most of the time.
Whoops, forgot the watermark...!
Original video, do not steal

Perhaps you can do the model of the 9f No. 92097 hauling some passenger trains to do the Pines Express creation.
Nice video my friend
But the clan tender doesn't pick up power ?
It does, all wheels have pickups fitted.
