Man, I've been avoiding my GOXLR for 2 years because I was intimidated by all the settings. Thank you so much for laying this out clearly and concisely!
Even though we be memeing you about the mic stuff in stream. I'm happy that you are passionate about this stuff and decided to make a video. I'm sure this tutorial will help someone.
Dope video dude, I see the sennheiser MKH 416 in your presets (defo my favourite microphone) I'm curious as to what settings you would use for that mic.
Ok, this is crazy because I've actually watched all of your videos about microphones and stuff and you've got an AMAZING voice bro. I use the UAD Apollo Twin now but if I were to use the GOXLR with my MKH416 again, I'd probably boost a bit at 60-80hz, cut at 250-500hz, maybe slight boost at 4khz because that's where the presence of my voice tends to be, another slight boost around 8 or 12khz for more airiness. from there i'd adjust until it sounded good. that's just where I'd start though, I haven't used the EQ on the GOXLR in a while so your mileage may vary
@@Om3gaPro ooo that's interesting, I love the quality of the UAD stuff just found that the features of the goxlr were more useful to me and the effects were good enough on it for streaming. It's always fun to see other people's settings and see how they configure things 😁
Yooo! Couldn’t mimic all the settings on the Go XLR mini but cutting the 31 hz, 250hz, 500hz, 1khz and boosting the 5khz and 16 kHz made a huge improvement to the sm7b! Thanks a lot!
I can not stress enough how much this video helped me! You are absolutely goated. Thank you so much! I will definitely be sharing this vid with all of my streamer buddies!
I don't even have a XLR audio interface but I watched the whole video. It was so well explained and I really enjoyed it. I'm planning to buy a Shure MV7X for youtube videos (exclusively my voice). Those exact settings can be applied in Adobe Audition during post-processing right? (Compressor, equailzer, noise gate, etc..) I know your setting is for streaming, but I just wanted to be shure that the same effect can be applied during a post process for recording audio. Thanks for the video, hope you're doing great.
so im getting allot of people saying that they hear echoing any ideas on how to fix that? BTW great information and explanations plus I got a lot of base in my voice so this helped a lot as well
I'm not sure if my SM7B mic is also broken also or not but when I have the mic playing back in my headphones, I hear a lot of BG noise, and on discord I am super low for some reason, my mic meter is set to 65dB and threshold to -44dB, I cannot seem to find a good combo :( on stream I sound fine though
Hi all. Question i just bought one and unfortunately I only have a USB mic (turtle beach) ya I know... so i got everything to work except I have 2 voices. My reg and I have an Alvin and the chipmunks kind of voice that I use. When I use regular voice everything seems ok in game but when I switch it on to my squeaky voice. People are hearing themselves through me. Any way to fix this problem? I didn't end up getting the atand alone mic to work. So I had to use a 3.5mm splitter with my headphones. Any suggestions to solve this problem im having other then I know buy a new mic. Thanks
Do you add filters to your mic in OBS or you can run the GoXLR as it is ? I’m using a GoXLR Mini for recoding TH-cam videos and I use OBS but I’m not sure what’s the best way
I watched this video and bookmarked it in m head until I got the right equipment. Just got my GoXLR Mini for my MV7 and came straight here and this video helped out a lot. Although the MV7's settings don't 100% match the SM7B, I was able to use your recommended settings to guide how I set up my mine. Thank you for making this!
Read some comments, and looks like the difference in my options was because I'm using the GoXLR Mini, not because of the mic. Still, got a good setup. It will be nice to fuck around with it going forward.

Excellent tutorial! TY!
I appreciate the start of this video." Here's the settings copy them if you want". You weren't trying to "content trap" anyone. Earned a sub big dawg.
Fantastic tutorial. I just want to say thanks, this has helped me hugely to dial in the settings.
Straight to the point Drake

Might be a a routing issue, head to routing and make sure you have the top left Mic/Headphones unchecked :)
Does the settings you save transfer to ps4 or no?

Damn been 9months and you still ain’t respond thanks bozo
my sm7b is very sensitive is that normal
Does anyone know how to get the in headset playback of your voice?
click routing then check mark the headphone
Does your goxlr disconnect randomly?
Nope, I don't think I've ever experienced that issue
you should make a video diving into the voice changer, that confuses me for whatever reason
Goddamn your hair is getting long mah boi 😍💪🏻
