Don't forget Billy Bat which is just as good. For newbies, the gist is a Japanese-American's comic Billy Bat starts predicting events of the future and he gets entangled in a decades long conspiracy over this ability and those who follow the Bat.
As a musician (pianist mainly) death of North no. 2 was one of the saddest moment in this series.

Dude…Naoki urasawa getting an adaptation with this much passion just makes me so happy I could actually cry right now, for anyone that doesn’t read manga and only watches anime you guys are in for an absolute masterpiece. This give me hope that 20th Century Boys can get a good adaptation someday if this does well PLEASE everyone spread this trailer like wildfire the people need to know just how GOATED urasawa is. 20th century boys is my favorite manga of all time with Pluto not being too far behind, please everyone watch this anime. I'm shocked that people don't understand what they're watching. I read comments on TH-cam as a medium where you can get honest reviews about almost any game/movie/product.
Quote "not a very good storyline. It's as crappy as the ending of Game of Thrones. Hmmm. Why make such a good show with such a crappy ending?" These are the kind of comments I'm talking about. And there are many similar ones. People act as if their intelligence is no further than that of a 5 year old child. This anime is amazingly sublime and high quality, it is multi-layered and perhaps an allusion to today's reality. Even if this is an adaptation of comics from the 90s, everything is very subtly woven into our reality. This is our future, this is our present. It's not just a cartoon, it's a premise.
@@DonnyHell agreed there, unfortunately there are a main stream spectators who are more interested about the sequential order of the thing and specifically as you mentioned the ending but omitting the whole idea or the rest of the series. The best reaponse for those ia probably the old saying; enjoy the journey not only the destination.
I'll say; some of the current events make this show hit different right now in 2024.
Robots won't ever be human until they understand the complex human nature of memes and shit posting, until a machine can laugh at stupid jokes, it isn't human!
Not only does the animation look insanely good, get ready for some of the best storytelling in anime and manga. Naoki Urasawa always delivers in his writing.

Urusawa isn't known for writing satisfying endings, but his character and plot development is among the best in the industry

One of the best murder case story i ever read. It has everthing, fighthing, betrayal, politics and a lot of twists.
And on top of all that is also a tribute to The God of Manga, Osamu Tezuka. It's just a dope story.

This is film-quality animation. I can see why this ONA took over six years to produce - it could end up being anime of the year if it faithfully adapts all of the source material.
Insane animation
I think it took about 8 years
And each episode is like an hour
This has been cooked for the last 6 or 7 years so yeah, it looks insane and i think they also want to adapt 20th Century Boys and all Naoki's works and i ready for it

I have been an Astro Boy fan since i was 6 years old, and Urasawa's Pluto is my favorite twist/version of the series out of them all. I remember initially hearing about it being made into an anime around 2013, but it obviously didn't work out until this year, when they published that it would be getting an adaptation produced by netflix. I can't describe how excited I am for October 26th to be here. Us Astro Boy fans are being pampered.

Urusawa said it might not released, "major animation or film studios could take offence, or maybe draw some non-existent similarities between my work and their work", ahem ahem.

*Pluto* is the type of manga that you can never forget. It completely changed how i view "Astro Boy" and its world within. Can't wait to experience this for the 1st time again in anime format.

Seeing that animation takes me back to Naoki Urasawa's Monster with Dr. Kenzo Tenma! It was such a great show! Pluto looks like another masterpiece from Naoki!

this show is too good for the present generation, there's no tsundere or things like that and the plot is genuinely made, is not linear so it will be difficult for them to follow

This kind of show makes me so emotional. It makes me terrified at the prospect of robots developing sentience but hopeful that theyll develop a heart and soul as humans have (only better).

This is boutta be an instant masterpiece. I picked up the full set of manga from my campus library (very lucky to have this) and I read the whole thing in one day - through and through entertaining. Urasawa the goat!!!

Actual masterpiece. Had me glued to the scree for 8 hours. The pacing is so perfect it doesnt even feel that long. The story, art, and characters feel so real its insane. One of the best animes ive seen in years!!! Urasawa deserves all the hype
So having just watched all of this in one sitting like a complete lunatic cause I couldn't put it down. This Anime was absolutely incredible, Some animated series come along and they are okay but don't leave a lasting impression but Pluto isn't one of them. I teared up on the first episode alone and was completely hooked on the mystery. Netflix picked an actually great experience to play for once so I am actually pleasantly surprised.
This series was incredible and is now one of my top 3-4 anime. I'm not kidding, it's an amazing experience.

@@himanshusinghrajput1308 Yep, AOT is #5 on the list (originally it was #4 but Pluto happened). I saw Death Note and Code Geass a long time ago. They were good from what I remember, but Death Note in particular was draining for me to watch because of Light.
I got chills from seeing the Monster art style with insanely polished animation

I like Naoki Urasawa's art styles in all of his work because it fells like all of his stories sets in the same universe but never got a chance to meet each other
On of the best Manga from one of the greatest mangakas finally getting an adaptation it fully deserves.
You can say whichever you want, but in my list Pluto is a sci fi tragedy with deep existential layout. And I hope to feel all the emotions again, now in 4K

I can read over the manga OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I am VERY picky when it comes to mangas and this is one of the BEST manga I have ever read. Adaptations have never satisfied me in my life but I am very excited for this.

This is not really a tragedy / drama anime but I'm sure I'll cry when I watch this. Part of it because I'm happy Pluto finally got an anime adaptation and it looks amazing, and the other part is because the story will just make you cry like a baby

So far this year, only Vinland Saga S2 was able to truly blow me away with it's insane level of writing and remained my personal AOTY. Judging by the comments here on this series Pluto (plus the trailer alone), it looks like this one could tople VS to 2nd place. I want to get blown away again with insane level of writing and symbolism like I did with Vinland Saga. I hope Pluto does it becasue the trailers and the comments here make it look super promising (might read the manga after seeing the full anime).
pluto is really great but it won't surpass the masterpiece that was season 2 of VS so don't set your expectations too high. but it's still going to be a top 3 AOTY for sure
