Congratulations. I think your dad and my dad, Bob Willcox of Stidcote Farm, bought their 35s at more or less the same time. I still have the 35 in my garage, undergoing a bit of restoration, but all original complete with loader. It gets used quite often. Back in 1978 when I built my house in Oldbury, I used to borrow your dad's trailer to ferry building stone from Stidcote using the 35. Looking forward to follow up video.
Hello Richard. My congratulations on the finding of your MF35. I know you,(and Harry) are going to enjoy having her back home where she belongs. i too have the first tractor my late father brought for me as a young lad just left school in 1983, A Ford7710. Probably of more interest to Harry than you as its a Ford. I have to say that that tractor will never leave me either as its a constant reminder to me of a really happy childhood with my father that simply cann t be replaced. I hope your MF35 can do something now for you and i really cann t wait to see it back at yours where it belongs.Well done to you and enjoy it. This video brought a tear to the eye as i begin to remember all those years ago, thank you
Fantastic news Richard, the bbc did you a favour as that show is broadcast across Wiltshire Bristol and Somerset too. I heard it on bbc wiltshire, the cutbacks found your fergie.
I've been smiling all the way through this, what a fantastic result. Looking forward to seeing the next instrument and ultimately 828 HHT coming home 👌👍👍
WOW, Richard, I am so happy for you. You have your old massey back 👌💯 and I can't wait to watch the up and coming video's, and well done to the radio station for putting the shout-out 👍
Lovely tractor congratulations on finding it and i wish the lovely people who were looking after it for many years the very best of luck for the great gesture in selling it back to you. They kept the tractor is great condition.
Well done, Richard and radio Gloucestershire in finding the little red Massy tractor. You and Harry will now be able to take it to country shows Remember you have another vehicle in your barn a certain Triumph that needs to be renovated 🎉
Good man David, cheers to you for letting it go again, hope you find a good replacement, if your still in need. Well done on looking after it that well, looks great from the picture.
That's a heart warming story Richard - not least that the owner agreed to sell it to you when it was so useful to him! There are some people with soul still out there. Good on Radio Gloucestershire for getting it out there too....in the end it hadn't travelled that far - could have been rusting away in a corner of the Outer Hebrides !!
Brilliant Richard, really pleased to hear this. And that was the power of good old Radio that worked so quickly. Compliments and Thanks to Radio Gloucestershire for their help in spreading the search.
Isn't this just so sweet, and I adore the photo of you with your brother and sister! So lovely of the now-owner to call in and help, and lovely of BBC radio too!
What an amazing story and an incredibly happy result. Listening to you tell this story about the Massey tractor brought back some great memories for me as well of the first time I learned to drive a tractor. It was my uncles 1946 Case SC tractor which I learned to drive on when I was 11 years old over 50 years ago now. Very happy for you Richard.
Good story, Richard! And big shout out to David, the current owner who's agreed to sell it back. We need some feel-good, don't we? You both should represent it at an upcoming vintage tractor show!
That’s great news Richard so pleased for you. You can hear in your voice. Can’t see the pictures as I’m severely visually impaired but I can imagine how you’re buzzing at the moment. Can’t wait to listen to the next update of tractor coming home to the farm
New to the channel and subscribed . I tjink most people wouldnt understand but wst an amazing story. I have 4 tractors that would never be for sale and will be passed to my kids
Great video. You’re very lucky to find the MF35 again and blessed that you could buy it back… a lot of MF35s were exported from the UK to Ireland and re-registered. Enjoy having it back in your possession again, it’ll stay on the farm forever by the sound of things, the chap that owned for 20 years was a star to look after it so well and then graciously part with it when you wanted it back. Keep up the good work.
Congrats Richard ! It’s amazing that with all the tech in the world now that the Humble radio was the thing that prevailed ! Can’t wait to see the video of it on the farm
This has made my week! Worthy of some TV exposure on BBC or GMT etc? Huge congrats and what lovely people to sell it back, just bloody marvelous! Now, where's that old Ferhie we sold 20 years ago...?
Brilliant! I knew you had a good chance of finding it when it was still registered with the DVLA, but not that quick! Be great to have it back on the farm - although you wont miss that heavy clutch pedal having to work it every day😆 Modern tractors have come a long way, but its great to have these old girls about for some lighter duties. Look forward to the next video where you and the farm manager go to see it
Massive congratulations Richard on finding the tractor. I can't imagine how pleased you must be. Glad it's going back to the farm and back in the family again. Look forward to the next video. "Crack on"
i can see you being a mini pete marquis.........you will have a shed in the future full of all your old tractors.......the only difference being i don't rekon you would ever want to see them auctioned off...........nice one mate .....great story with a happy ending
You Can't Always Get What You Want But if you try sometime you'll find You get what you need - Mick & Keef would be proud of you Richard. Looking forward to the video ASAP, Mr Very Happy Farmer. (Speculation is rife that you'll rope Ian into helping you collect 828 HHT)
What a heart warming result Richard. You must have choked up a bit when you new it would be coming home. I along with many others can't wait. What a lovely person the other farmer and his wife are 👍🏻
really glad you have found it,and even better that you can buy her back. really lucky given how many of them old fergys went abroad to africa and alikes back in the day as no one really wanted them, i know all our old mf 100 series went abroad ,prob the 35’s and 65’s from before as well.is she coming back with the loader as well ?? would really be the icing on the cake, so many get restored and those get removed,
Lovely that you found it. Im sentimental with an old car we had. Was a white Rover 400. Had a honda engine in it and was a bullet proof engine. Really was a beautiful car. We ended up scrapping it in 2010 for various reasons where we didn't need 2 cars anymore and someone kept damaging our tyres. Now looking back I wish we never scrapped it as it was a beautiful car, plus with Rover now not being in business, they don't make them anymore and they are getting rarer. Non of our previous cars have survived being scrapped apart from one we traded in for another car in 2008.
Richard this fantastic and I can totally relate to this I did the same thing last year with a old landrover defender I use to own I tracked it down and brought it back It was a great experience and so many emotions got me all at once
Wow,incredible, can't imagine your emotions when you get to sit on it again, what about when you see Jack and Harry sit on it for the first time, hankies and buckets to catch the tears I would imagine, very good news, crack on😂
Thank god someone has finale pronounce the Letter H correctly the young Lady on BBC Radio Gloucestershire Aitch Aitch, she is a funny Lady we could do with her humour on BBC Essex.🤣
I cannot wait to meet the person who was nice enough to sell you your tractor back. What a terrific thing to do.
I've actually got a tear in my eye after watching that ! Huge, huge congratulations on finding her Richard
Wow! The power of the Funky Farmer! Richard you can open doors!
