All my friends thought I was a nut in '73 listening to THE DOORS. Loved them the first time I heard them. I was born in '60 and Jim was already gone by the time I heard them. My Mom turned me onto them. She turned me on to A LOT of great music man. L.A. Woman was the first album I ever bought....along with Sticky Fingers. Very soon I had every record. The kids in my hood were digging Zeppelin, Sabbath, Foghat, etc. I was too.... but my go to record was always ABSOLUTELY LIVE. EPIC. Love THE SOFT PARADE TOO. All of them. The debut album was a masterpiece. The most original sounding band that there ever was. Not even close man.
Goddamn! I can't put it into words, it's so... perfect. What a mysterious, emotional ride they take us on, it's really beautiful. I have loved this song for 25+ years and find it hard to find any song that comes close. Timeless.
this song is all time the best! brings back a lot of great times ! And good people I shared that with ! I grew up at the best time ever music was the best
"brothers and sisters of the pale force, who among you will run with the hunt ? " me unbelievibel years surviving, dear Jim, Ray, thanks a lot, rest in peace..
i don`t know if that`s damage on the needle - the LP - or something else i`ve got this LP - but it sounds like there`s someone else whispering with Jim - highly wierd given the Mojo Risin dead Indian shaman thing
Long Beach Arena Feb 27 1967 WOW Jim had a Stage Presence the likes of not many others. And Densmore let us all know that Jim had pissed him off somehow cause John kept throwing shit at him, a drumstick, a beer bottle. I'll never forget any of it! PS my buddy, Rick, passed out and slept through the whole show.
Keep in mind it was recorded live in 1970. Look on TH-cam for all the doors 1970 concerts which have been released in their entirety. Sonically they are greatly improved
I have had this on vinyl my whole life......this particular side is one the jewels in the crown of rock....
+metrakos well said
No doubt brother. No doubt. EPIC
Amen

The Doors still remain light years ahead of their time...ooops should I have said that? LOL....
The best classic rock album in existence!!!
Il y a les Doors, et puis les autres. 👍🎶🥂

Correction what Morrison was saying was pale forest
George Bethos thanks bro
I love the audience sitting in rapt attention. And then for Soul Kitchen, when Jim sings "well the COP said its time to go....now.."
"for seven years, I dwelt in the loose palce of the exile playing strange games with the girls of the island"......
This version of Celebration of the Lizarad and The Soft Parade are my favorite songs.
Oh yeah excellent song
I love this version better than the studio version.
I let my cheek slide down the cool smooth tiles...feel the good cold stinging blood
Jim was Gospel !
jimbo is the man
Let's run ( whispers to your ear )

you might try to wash your LP with some soft liguid soap and gently with teeth brudh. it does help.
Did you record this from a Close and Play record player?

Too bad for Rick.
One of my favorites used to have this album, but...who's the idiot, who decided to put that fairy gymnastics ad, right in the middle? Bad idea folks.
The guy at 12:35 always scare the shit out of me.
Startles you? He's just saying "The Doors. The Doors." No worries.
whats wrong with the sound?!
O.
If this wasn't Jim Morrison and the Doors it would probably be considered unlistenable.
DENSMORE DEMONIC!
John Densmore an absolutely amazing drummer is so greatly underrated
George Bethos fuck yeah. Densmore never gets any credit. he is by far the most exciting live drummer I've ever heard...
W,T,F???
Yes, great piece of work but this recording sounds like absolutely suck.
