so helpful. my younger brother just started getting twists & told me he keeps them in for a week at a time 💀 I don't live with my parents anymore but I'm just like babyboy... we don't got it like that to be getting your hair twisted every week 😭 I'll def be helping him with the tips you gave, thanks so much 🙏🏽
EXTRA TIP!!! If you use gloves instead of your bare hands. It allows you to touch your hair & apply oil without making your twist fuzzy. Plus it’s cleaner & won’t make your hair dirty.
@NM-ve3ud yooo gang, I hate that shit too! Put it on, sleep, wake up, and they al flat looking. Super compressed. And or like you said, throwing up gang signs. Got me banging with my hair 😂😂
I'm always coming across videos that feature women (I'm also a woman) for tips on hairstyles, and so many nearly identical with a lot of talking about nothing before getting to the main topic, not to mention the modeling/posing before and after. It annoys me, but sometimes the videos do help me. I've seen a few that feature men with twists, but your video is so refreshing. 🙂 You spoke very clearly without using slang and/or profanity, or the ever popular phrase "It's ya boy", and you showed what to do step by step with your explanations. Very nice! 👍🏽 I'm considering wearing twists for the first time, and wanted tips on how keep them looking fresh, and I'll definitely be trying out your method. My hair is approximately three inches past my shoulders, so hopefully I'll still have success. Thanks for sharing, and keep up the good work in how you present yourself in your videos. 🙂
Whenever I get twists, the first 2 nights I have to keep my hair the way I want it to lay. If not it takes the form of however it was put in (like the pictures lol). After the 2 nights I can put it in a ponytail or whatever and when taken down in falls back down straight.
@@tw1kkin.estaniis12 I sleep with the biggest/longest bonnet they make and don’t lay on my head. I sleep on my arms to avoid it. After about 2 nights I can sleep however I want cause the style set already and won’t mush to my head
A day is coming when God will send His angels to blow the seven trumpets and Jesus to come through with glory. Jesus, God’s own son does not know this day nor do the angels in heaven, only God, that’s why we must repent and fear the Lord and serve Him because He is good and He’s giving us all the time we need to do His work❤
I think the 1st pic is plaits and honestly as fix for me was just throwing warm water on my hands and started stretching out my plaits or twist which ever one you have and they go back to looking normal for me.
What should I do if I have a full head, (they go down to under my nose in the front/side and to my shoulders in the back if needed u need to know) and I use a durag instead of a bonnet
❤ I agree 👍 with everything in this video...but could I suggest when applying oil to your hair, use plastic gloves... I promise you won't get any frizz. Love the video ❤❤❤❤❤
I might be misguided, but what about moisturizing? I was told that oil is a sealant. My question is, when and how do you moisturize through the weeks and seal with oil without creating the flyaways and frizz?
Oil acts as a sealant, but it can also be used as a moisturizer. The reason I only use oil is because if you use any cream like a leave in conditioner or a butter. It will very easily create frizz. When having braids oil is the best product to use, if you do not want your braids to get frizzy
Yo I gotta Question, So I train Boxing and Kung Fu, so I be doing jump rope pushups, sit-ups etc while I had dreads before and I had them turnt into this braiding style; my questions are: 1.) How different is the process if I wanted to go back to doing dreads? And would it be easier to dye my hair like this or when I have it as dreads? 2.) Is better if I train with my hair up tied up, or left so it doesn't lose form? Which would be easier for maintenance?
You can go to dreads from two strand twist and many dread heads two strand twist their dreads. I’d also dye with dreads first. Also I’d train with hair tied but if you have this style with good locks at the end, you’ll be fine
are you doing anything to them during the day to make them frizzy? touching them, twirling them, wearing a hat without something silky in between? also at night what do you lay your head on? you need either (or both if you want) a durag/bonnet or silk/satin pillowcase to sleep on at night
According to what I've seen for people with two-strand twists, is it best just to cut the sides and rock the hightop version? Or can it look good with the sides twisted as well? Since I am unsure whether I would look good with a hightop.
most people i see (including myself) have the two strand twist with the high top fade. You could get a temp fade and it would look just as good if you don’t want to cut the sides completely off.
I have my full Afro, no fade whatsoever, and my two strand twists look amazing. Whichever you choose is up to you, none look better than the others imo at least.
These a good night routine but I wanna what to do about the itching mainly that’s what ends up messing me over whenever I get twists or braid after about a week my hair gets real itchy and it gets to be to much. And I end up messing it up by itching when my Durags on. Do you all wash your hair or just wash when you take your hair out. When I was my hair with these styles it ends up making my hair really frizzy and the style doesn’t last as long. So I’m not sure how to tackle this .
You probably should tell the person to use a different product when doing your hair you probably got a sensitive scalp bro . I had this problem until I told shorty that do it and she tried something else no more itch over weeks.
i shampooed my hair heavily before i got my twists and conditioned but I still had itches only 4 days later so. i think its less to do with how clean ur hair is
Depends on if you get mini twist or chunky twist. Bigger twist will be shorter & smaller twist will be longer. But if you have 4C hair no matter what your twist are gonna shrink.
Ok so I’m very new on my twist journey, I had an Afro for like a year and got two strands, not very long, I put on a durag or bonnet and when I wake up they are all types of pressed up on my head making it look like a matted Afro. When I wake up I wet them and try to straighten em out but after two days of this they’re just all over the place, I just need to avoid this so I dnt do it for my first retwist.
