This album has the most brutal vocals lyrically and literally. When I found them a few years ago I thought I could find something worse while keeping the same level of musicality. I was wrong this album is ridiculously amazing.
I love the deep vocals that this band has. Chelsea Grin has the overall sound im trying to get to, but this band has helps me with my growls and deep vocals
Exactly, this is why I still hold an affection for the band Korn, because of the mixing of styles they had when they came out they had such a fresh sound that nobody had done before. I still like them to this day. I am also very fond of Black Metal but I hold a main love for Progressive Death/Black and Technical Death Metal. Melodic Death is also quite a favourite.
I will never forget the day I saw them live when This is Exile was announced and not even out. I didn't like this type of music before then (for some odd reason haha), but Vicer Exiser was played and when it dropped, it dropped and was amazing. Whitechapel is the band that turned me onto deathcore metal and I love it.
Jack Kearns! Yay! By far the best character in The Monstrumologist series. (Good job on the lyrics. I loved this song about a year ago, but I've been losing my interest with Metal lately. Hopefully I start liking it as much as I did then soon... But this is still a good song.)
Its death metal...I dont think I need to say anymore..listen to some other bands in the genre especially from the 90s and you will begin to notice some recurring themes
Agreed. Maybe I'm not so much into Korn lately, but they got something sympathetic about them. Ol' good Progressive and Technical... How long it was, when I last time listened to a band like Heretoir or Fleshgod Apocalypse? Very long. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
I grew up on electronic music, then went to orchestral, and then found metal to be my favourite genre. I just listen to everything as a result of a varied musical upbringing and see no reason to condemn a genre, regardless of how much sewage is in the tank.
Yeah, true. I like to listen to Whitechapel when I go to sleep. It's just to throw away any other thoughts. But most of the time I listen to any song, I just tend to feel it.
I saw the album cover for one of Whitechapel's albums, and I thought "Wow. That album cover looks sick. I should listen to them." So I did and fell in love. Moral of the story: It's sometimes okay to judge an album by it's cover. XD
it uses the same technique that opera singers use and it's based on a greek singing style. you be the judge. also, it doesn't use vocal cords as much as diaphragm (hence opera) .
i actually like hearing the demo versions of the songs from the somatic defilement because they sound sooooo much heavier that way. this is exile i actually like their great recording quality that they put into it. and now its a NEW ERA OF CORRUPTION. ...woot
Job For a Cowboy has basically left the deathcore scene. You can't compare the two anymore. They've got completely different sounds, listen to "Point Below Zero". :)
This album fucking slays
This album has the most brutal vocals lyrically and literally. When I found them a few years ago I thought I could find something worse while keeping the same level of musicality. I was wrong this album is ridiculously amazing.
I just heard infant annihilator, they sound like the name suggest lmao.
Heather Mason You want brutal lyrics, check Forced Gender Reassignment by Cattle Decapitation
Jay Bergs thy art is murder and black dahlia murder is brutal
Jay Bergs Yeah, Thy Art Is Murder's new album has some intense lyrics
Gha5ty7 Ingested, Cerebral Bore and Annotations of an autopsy are also great bands with brutal lyrics
1:25 One of the greatest Whitechapel breakdowns. That tempo change mid-way through it is fucking insane.
one of the greatest breakdowns. fills me with rage every time
The vicer exciser one is the best
Still insane in 2022
Man, back when deathcore and post hardcore were really something.
+Danny Grin Deathcore is still good imo.
deathcore is washed up trash now. back in the day it used to be mean as fuck.
Mercapta yea but then we have the new suicide silence... I think all the great names that stand for deathcore are getting washed slowly
all about that underground local black metal these days
black metal is way better than it used to be MGLA is slaying it same as batushka
this album is dark and twisted and fucking heavy as shit! Too bad they don't sound as raw these days.. but I guess the main goal is to progress
Yesssssss

2:25 is one of my all time favorite moments in deathcore history

Only the first two albums are classics
I love the deep vocals that this band has. Chelsea Grin has the overall sound im trying to get to, but this band has helps me with my growls and deep vocals
Am I the only one to find this song pretty melodic? Wasn't expecting that from a song fromt the first album, considering the lyrics
the first 17 seconds sounded like opeth
Most underrated and Best Whitechapel song ever.
that drummer..... no words to say but OMG
I was expecting this to be asmr because I looked up “ear to ear” and I was so wrong. Goodbye, love to all....

kind of freaks me out how they seem to mention ''Rape'' in every song... o__o
***** not if no one cares about your knowledge
A lot of their songs from this album is based of journals of serial killers
PLEASE TELL ME YOU ARE BEING SARCASTIC
Its death metal...I dont think I need to say anymore..listen to some other bands in the genre especially from the 90s and you will begin to notice some recurring themes
I love this as a concept album:) The stories of the 1888 Whitechapel murders have always interested me.
LOVE THE LYRICS.
Agreed. Maybe I'm not so much into Korn lately, but they got something sympathetic about them.
Ol' good Progressive and Technical... How long it was, when I last time listened to a band like Heretoir or Fleshgod Apocalypse? Very long. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
The intro was my ringtone for so long! \m/

MAgical :)!
I be listening to this and the demo version side by side, that 2006 version is the tits!
I grew up on electronic music, then went to orchestral, and then found metal to be my favourite genre.
I just listen to everything as a result of a varied musical upbringing and see no reason to condemn a genre, regardless of how much sewage is in the tank.
Best song on the album
More like this + a good action game=beautiful fucking kill streak.
And good for you loving what you want to love and nothing caring what others say :D
How innocent this scheme of murder!
I grinned at that part.. so sick!!

Yeah, true. I like to listen to Whitechapel when I go to sleep. It's just to throw away any other thoughts. But most of the time I listen to any song, I just tend to feel it.

Hey yeah
Words can't effectively describe the vast chasm that is the difference between Call of Duty and a good game.
dudes gotta have an anatomy book or something when he writes these lyrics. brutal
I saw the album cover for one of Whitechapel's albums, and I thought "Wow. That album cover looks sick. I should listen to them." So I did and fell in love. Moral of the story: It's sometimes okay to judge an album by it's cover. XD
I fucking love the thumbnail ;D
they talk about rape cause they're songs are about brutality. Rape is pretty fucking brutal...
they talk about rape because this album is about jack the ripper hence the band name whitechapel the town where jack the ripper burried the bodies
Frank Papa I think i love this band even more now xD
@VictoriaaNone i did that in 1st period today, while listening to that first scream. im so glad my teacher is cool and loves deathcore
It'd be nice if Whitechapel went back to this.
this brings out the zodiac killer in all of us :D
it uses the same technique that opera singers use and it's based on a greek singing style. you be the judge. also, it doesn't use vocal cords as much as diaphragm (hence opera) .
great
i'm voting you for president.
2:25. Respect that breakdown.
lol i was just vacuuming to this haha
@aapch1 hes talking about jack the ripper and the things he did thats also why they are named whitechapel because that is where it all took place
i actually like hearing the demo versions of the songs from the somatic defilement because they sound sooooo much heavier that way. this is exile i actually like their great recording quality that they put into it. and now its a NEW ERA OF CORRUPTION. ...woot

Oh, well I like it. d:
"the gurgling of gore, the sound of splitting hide, the grinding of the bones, EAR TO FCUKING EAR!!"
@DonchaLoveMilk Yes, the album's about Jack The Ripper, but Whitechapel got their name from the famous Whitechapel murders...
Job For a Cowboy has basically left the deathcore scene. You can't compare the two anymore. They've got completely different sounds, listen to "Point Below Zero". :)
Absolutely love this album... Unfourtanetly it's the only album by Whitechapel I like :/
