Caleb Johnson would do an incredible job covering a Bad Company song. Anyone wholeheartedly agree with that?

Rare Earth. Haven’t heard them I’m a long, long time. I remember they did a cover of “Get Ready” from the Temptations, but made it more of a rock song, rather than the original Motown Sound of the song. The song was written by the great Smokey Robinson, but recorded by the Temptations. In the early 70s, Rare Earth did a version of it which gave them their first hit, I believe.
This was a song they recorded later, I don’t know if it was a cover or not? Weird thing about Rare Earth was the drummer was the lead singer, not unlike Don Henley who sang some lead vocals for the Eagles, most notably, he sang Hotel California.
A bit later, Phil Collins would take over vocals for Genesis after Peter Gabrielle left the band as the front man. Those are some of the rare bands with lead singing drummers.

I've searched the interwebs. This may be the highest quality video recording of this tune full stop - hard-driving percussion from Jason a la Peter Rivera, soaring gospel-inflected vocals, absolutely blistering guitar. A worthy tribute to Rare Earth's legacy and the beautiful cry of life this song imparts.

1974 the year I graduated high school after graduation we crammed as many people as we could into my buddy's car and we had the the stereo all the way up blasting this song . What a great memory . We made some noise that night .

It pisses me off that Caleb is not a bigger star than he is.
