    Making a Leather Pen Case
I needed to make a leather pen case so that my pens weren't floating around inside of my tote bag. I made this leather pen case out of scrap vegetable tanned leather, and sewed it by hand with a saddle stitch. I put a brass clip on the back so that the leather pen case which I made could hang from the side of my tote bag for easy access.
They say the shoemaker's children never have shoes, and to a very large extent this is true with my own leather crafting stuff. You'll notice the old lumpy edge paint, the scarred leather scrap, and the sample threads we're using to make this leather pen case. That's ok though! I like how the scrap leather ages, and it's just as strong as the clear vegetable tanned leather we make our products for sale with :)

This is so relaxing to watch, no music, no words, just the sound of good craftsmanship!

I began working with leather about a year ago to help with anxiety.. I looked for videos to help learn and I find your videos so helpful and so relaxing. When I get near your level I'll make you something! I appreciate you and what you do thanks!

Thanks for the kind words! I've battled severe anxiety my whole life and watching videos of people making things helps me a lot during attacks, that's a big reason we make our videos the way we do. It warms my heart that they help you :) I'll trade ya when you're ready!

Really enjoy your videos. I really appreciate the way you hand stitch, any chance you could do a short video showing a few stitches at a little slower speed? I like your stitching a lot better than the traditional saddle stitching.

Awesome!!! What type of chisels do you use?? (Whats the spacing?) Can you do a video of your stitching process?? I recently started working with leather, I used your videos for ideas and inspiration. Thanks for sharing your work!

I could really use one of these for my fountain pens. Maybe one that holds, and keeps separate two or three large sized fountain pens.
I'm going to go check out your website.

Didn't find anything, but I assume you may take occasional custom orders? If so, roughly how much would you charge for a slim, 2 pen case, with a soft fabric liner inside, and a dark colored leather outside, with some type of brass ring and, or a clasp to hold the case closed?

I love your videos, and the projects you do. I have a question about finishes, or the lack of. I'd like to see what the uncolored leather weathers into. Do you never color any leather? Or is it just for the videos?

So Beautiful. There are no various fountain pen cases in Korea that carry large pens such as Montblanc 149. So I made a fountain pen case with my father who does leather craft as a hobby. It was shown to the fountain pen lovers around, who filmed and uploaded a video on TH-cam to show many people the process of making it. I'd like to improve my pen case further to make a good quality pen case.

This flat shape puts too much pressure on the pen. The gussets would relieve pressure when the case is being pressed on all sides when it is inside a bag or backpack. With normal pens it is fine but with nicer pens I would not use this case.

Can I get this to fit my fountain pens? Specifically 2 Viscontis (london fog, kakadu) and a Pilot Custom 823. This is the one I am using right now but I'll need another for some more Visconti pens!
