I have been there. Tokashiki and Zamami, are both nice, but very hot in summer. Habu is the native snake which is used in a few Okinawan products. When walking thru jungles you should wear boots and thick pants, not sandals and swimsuits. I carry my towel, sandals,, and sunblock in a backpack. I camped on Zamami, and a local mentioned that the campground was free of snakes. I asked how he knew. He said because there were so many feral cats. So I thought the cats ate the snakes. He said no, its the other way around. So in places where you see no rodents or feral cats- watch out. The Kerema Islands were a staging area during the war. It often hosts the yearly Sabani Sailing Race in which native boats cross the 36 kilometers to Naha. Stay away during typhoon season unless you enjoy serious weather.

I beg to disagree that this is the best beach in the world. Christian LeBlanc, also a travel vlogger said that for him the best beach in the world is here in my country, the Philippines, specifically in El Nido, Palawan. 😋 😜 😝

I live in America now but I am originally from Okinawa and lived in the neighboring island. I have very mixed feelings of more tourists coming to Okinawa. The influx of tourists have caused the cost of living to rise drastically. Some can no longer afford to live on the island! And these are people who have lived there all there lives! As much as I appreciate people seeing a part of my home, it's also disheartening in so many ways. It's a complicated feeling. But besides from that, Erik I really do enjoy watching your videos and bringing back my home province to my small computer screen.
