Thank you for taking the time to help make this ever winding path open, you are truly an inspiration but an advocate for all who want to serve in politics.
@ In certain circumstances, yes. but they still need to know the name of the candidate pushing hope and change so they know who to vote for, so you need to be well known by election day.
My great grandfather and his family were rich ranchers in Oaxaca until the Mexican revolution. During that war his entire family was hanged for their land (wealth), and he only escaped because the employees loved him, they hid him in a barrel and put him on a cart headed away from the ranch. And, though he was never rich again, he made something of himself as an accountant. He told our family (through my mother) to never forget the poor, mainly because of that incident. The problem with affluephobia (bigotry against the rich) is that if you demand others give you their wealth they will stop you with force, which means land reform (again, in the case of first world nations this means wealth redistribution and/or a wealth cap) always leads to millions being murdered like in the Mexican revolution, the Russian revolution, the various other communist revolutions, etc. We must fight bigotry against the rich, and I would enact policies that protect their wealth. For instance, wealthy people, in a fair world, would only pay for running the government as much as a poor person would in exact dollar amounts. Here's an example: Let's say three people need more water. The obvious solution is to build a well for 9 dollars. The intuitive deal would be that all three would pay the exact same amount to create it, $3, no matter if one was in debt up to his eyeballs, another was poor, and another was a billionaire. To be a little more progressive (but really for the functioning and stability of the state) the two poor guys could very reasonably ask for a flat tax, which means if they pay 1 and 2 cents respectively, the billionaire must pay $9.97, which is pretty much fair, and the poor should expect no more out of them. I believe in a 20% flat income tax and a deliberate yearly inflation of 2.5%. I believe in using that money to give a minimum of 2019 $24,000 US dollars as a negative income tax, that there should be 5 basic entitlements with a cap on maximum lifetime spending for each (Basic: housing, nutrition, education, utilities, tech for basic life experiences as in smart phones, televisions, computers and connections with unlimited data for daily use) at 2019 $20,000 US dollars. Similar programs work in Singapore's healthcare system, but theirs are arguably more progressive, and their government is very frugal, which means they would only do that if it cuts costs. Furthermore, the maximum payment yearly for these things shall not exceed half of your NIT income.
I'm running for city council. I have two opponents. Tonight, we participated in a ballot draw. My name will appear third on the ballot. Is that a good thing or a bad thing ?
Thank you for responding. This is my first time running for public office. I've learned tons of invaluable information while watching your videos. @@jaytownsend22

Better than being #2. But in the end, it doesn't make much difference if you have a better message than the other two.
