He's not even kinda sorta bothered that his parents pay $600/monthly toward his debt while he slides by with a payment of $35/monthly. Any decent son/daughter would do whatever it takes to lessen the burden on their aging parents. Not this lad. He's too busy taking back his power and fulfilling the dream.

You will share the burden and one day, after kids and everything, this will blow up and you have nobody to count for. Also, saving for a down payment? What down payment, with his debt to income ratio, most banks will not give him a mortgage. If they do, well... everything will just get worse.

@RedRose7997 There's a lot of truth to what you're saying because it is definitely a Boomer-Generation thing to say that any degree is a good degree. My problem though is displayed perfectly with this guy in the video: he's arrogant to the point that you can taste the love he has for himself in the air. He's smug and believes he's the smartest guy in any room he walks into probably because he's been given an arm full of participation trophies and a lifetime of "Good job!" from his parents. Even with Boomers, guidance counselors, and the rest of Big Education pushing the lie on him he should know enough 2nd grade math to know that some bull💩 degree (I think it was journalism in his case, not mentioned in the video though) won't pay for the obscene costs of the education he bought.
I remrmber in 1997 I was a new college grad and there was a truck released in the previous year I wanted for 4 years (I know that doesn't make sense, but it does if I give the long story), but I was too cheap to buy one. My dad pressured me to do it, so I did, but I said no to the upgrades he said I should get. If I could say no to financial expenses recommended by a parent (and he was cheap too) then so can anyone. Anyone can say no to lazy degrees in education, English, Theater, Grievance Studies, etc. We all instinctively know these worthless degrees are worthless.

Here's the thing, I have a wife and three kids, I have a career where I can see you to make more money. However, I need to pay on our car loans and on other debts they're more important and I want to get my family a house I want to give my family a future. To pay back per month the balance that my student loans require would be about $1,000. Sometimes life just does not allow you to pay for student loans that are already astronomically higher than they should be. I have $120,000 in student loan debt and a master's degree in IT. I have more important things to pay and that's due tomorrow. I have one student loan from 2006 that I've been paying on for 14 years. The original amount was only $12,000. Do you want to know how much I still owe on this loan? I still owe $9,000 and I have paid almost $15,000 back on this loan. FUCK student loans. It is because of what has happened with this loan why I will pay the bare minimum on the student loan to keep the government from coming after me and I will limp it along until the day I die even if I have to go to school for the rest of my life earning as many degrees is possible increasing the debt just to keep from having to pay it back I will do what I have to. Student loans are pure evil pure and simple, the fact that you can't even include them under bankruptcy makes it evil in of itself. So I say again buck student loans and screw these guys with their high-and-mighty attitudes. The problem isn't that we took out the loans it's that the schools are allowed to charge as much as they are and the banks are allowed to give interest as much as they do and the government is allowed to put chains on you to pay them back. That is the crime.

3:21 what he is really saying here is, His parents took out the loans for their son to go to college. Which is why they are paying 600 a month, and he only pays 35 a month. He fully understands that his parents won’t be able to pay off this loan. When they die the money and house he knows will get passed on him, the bank will come after their estate taking the remaining balance of the unpaid loan, which is the parents home. Sell it and turn a profit. Leaving him with nothing or very little.
