Your right very cool, used to have these funny enough. They used to fight the cowboys and 7th Cavalry, I can still here the bugle playing now. Great paintwork and video.
I m from argentina beatifull figures, here in the 80s when ai play whit toy soldiers ,airfix its almost imposible to find..buy a box forge it..butt we have imitations of that posses still i have some few ..in that times i have hundreds of toy soldiers..what a good memories , thanks from argentina.
damn. You know, I've had these guys in a bucket since I was a tad, and never knew where they came from. I just ran across this video today. What a trip down memory lane. (Now it's time to go start tracking some covered wagons and Cavalry.) Thanks for the video!
The rider to horse connection was extremely flimsy on these "Wild West" figures. Almost guaranteed to break with any sort of handling. Airfix didn't really think that one through (though nothing comes close in flimsiness to the M1 carbine barrels on the "US Infantry" or the signal flags on the "German Mountain troops" sets).
Would also love to have this set today played with them when I was a child but sadly many hard fought battle's an the ravages of time few survive today 👍🙂
These are beautiful figures. The sculpt and poses seem fluid, natural and well thought out. As for their accuracy, I can not speak. Along with the Cowboys and the 7th Cavalry they may well be just as inaccurate. They seem more inspired by Hollywood than Historical Evidence. The 1970s displayed little interest in the correct use of terminology and respect for minority groups. I agree that today these figures may be better served by the title Native Americans, although this is also in dispute as it ignores Hawaii and Alaska. As the debate rages on, I prefer to enjoy these classic toys for what they are; Children's' Toys made with a passion for detail and quality. Thank you for this lovely trip down Nostalgia Avenue. Lovely stuff.
GOOD VIDEO,I HAVE MANY OF THESE ALONG WITH MARX INDIANS.THESE ALSO NOW COME FROM CHINA IN MANY SCALES.HOBBY LOBBY SELL THEM IN 1/72 SCALE WITH COWBOYS AND WAGON PLUS HORSES.I HAVE 3000 OF THEM. GOD BLESS.
I bought recently a similar set of these kind of plastic warriors. The Chinese manufacturer called them “Cavemen”.Another sort of set was simply called “Wild West”.
Like I said on 7th Cav. video, glad you did these, were unknown to me before this. These figures seem almost identical to the figures that used to come in the FORT APACHE army set, which was made by MARX, wonder if someone copied somebody, if so not who. These are great figures, no my wish list now
Great video, somewhere I have the first one you showed with the war bonnet and lance. the one thing i liked was the way the reins went from the mouth of the horse and were attached to the saddle.

I have a set of little big horn toy soldiers,I’ve never seen ones quite like this. 3 troopers running around with arrows in their back. Their are 3 female Indians holding what looks like a child’s basket, but if you look in the basket,it’s the head of a trooper, and their is a trooper bent over and the top of his head is flat.Custer is laying their and his shirt is ripped around his chest, I’m assuming to give the impression that they cut out his heart. I’ve never seen soldiers like this before, you know if it was the other way around their would be law suits.
Τα παιδικά χρόνια μας πριν 50 με55 χρόνια πίσω είχαμε αυτά να παίζουμε και το βράδυ να κοιμωμαστε σαν πουλακια
Considering when he painted them, I think your dad did an amazing job! Bravo! 😊
Thanks :)

Yes the wild west set were copied a lot and you still find them to this day.
My wildest fantasies are coming loose as I become a 7 year old again
Ha ha Capital Hill was my first thought too, but these days there is nothing funny about humour. Keep up the good work.
I wonder who will be first to customize that figure into the Capitol Hill dude?
I had those when I was kid in 90s. Loved them. Thanks for the video!

TRY WALMART,GOODWILL,AND EBAY ,GOD BLESS
Great figures, great poses. I’ve been after this set for a while. Your Dad did a fantastic job on them. Love your channel.
Thansk for your kind words. Yes they are kinda hard to find. A few on Ebay but the price is on the high side.
I think first nations is now the accepted term
Great video, thank you

Lol how thin can you go.
What difference $owes it make.it’s funny how every Indian was a warrior yeh .
Native Americans.
I was born in America, that makes me a native American. Enough of this social justice crap.

Those are the best toys. The ones that were played with a lot. Same with the ones I had as a kid.
Habe ich auch zu Hause. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Sweden.

Do you know what year the Marx set was released. As far as I can gather there was quit a bit of copying during at least the 50s and 60s.
Это великолепнейшие солдатики!!! Спасибо за обзор! Буду искать себе в коллекцию!
I hope you find it.
WOW thats awesome!!!
Just how many of the classic sculpts/poses have been copied/originated from Airfix?! 🤣
Quite a few I would say.
@@toysoldiernostalgia True… guess that is due to them having done those sculpts So well that they get copied by cheap copycats… 😅
@@senint I think the very sharp details make them great for making moulds of and makes it easy to get decent copies.

So frickin awesome aren´t they.
@@toysoldiernostalgia I have just been ages looking for the miniature... still not found him :(
Native Americans. I should think. Shouting native Americans does not have the same effect when they come riding in to scalp you.
Yes those where for sure different times.
Is this about airfix or indian history.
Airfix. Why do you wonder?
Excelente video, muchos saludos
Thanks :)
these are the ones i grew up playing with. the only problem was that a bag of them would come with like 5 chiefs.
Great channel! Airfix is very popular in Russia! I hope that you have the maximum information on these wonderful figures.
Thanks. Any ideas how to reach viewers in Russia? What russian words could I tag?

Great figures. However they are not available in the market.
Sadly, not. You have to trawl dealer sites and ebay and usually have to pay outrageous prices for them.
Today they would be called Cassino Owners.
Very uncalled for comment - just shows how childish you are.
Airfix "Native Americans"
I for one appreciated the little dig at the muppet at the Capitol.
