I remember buying this album on the strength of this song, putting it in the CD player on the ride back to college and just being really disappointed. Maybe listened to three or four songs. After having it a few weeks without playing it again I was home with some weed and decided to give it another listen. I was blown away by both the intricacy and minimalism of what I heard. So much going on in these songs that I just didn’t hear without a pair of headphones and bowl of green. That night changed my musical tastes forever. I love this album so much it I had the cover art by Reggie Pedro (RIP) put on the grooms cake at my wedding. If you’ve never listened to this album while high, I beg you to do so. And any of those first three albums, really.
Just saw them a day ago and damn it was amazing, especially this song. They were like "Thanks for sticking with us for 20 years" and i was like man I'm 14 new generations are still kinda listening!
Hell yeah man, 19 here and ive never met anyone who listens to them in real life. Its my parents favorite band so i grew up on this and i wish more people our age listened to them
@@rmbassett58 I'm 42 and that's the best thing I read today. If anything besides Gomez can bond us, may the following be it: keep your mind and heart at a good place.
I had a very unconventional discovery of this band years ago and then ended up spending some time w/ them on tour. Interesting guys… and their crew! I love the memories.
So many incredible experiences and memories to this album. Saw them live in Auckland, New Zealand many moons ago - epic live. Timeless songs. Thank you.
I recall at the time, their brilliance did not go unnoticed. By the British music press. Or the British public. They were discovered. And fully appreciated. At the time. It appears they were not hugely known outside of the UK. But for younger people who have listened to them thru their parents or have just discovered them. Gomez had enormous success and respect in the UK. Which many will know is hard to get. The British are fussy. And wisely picky about who deserves admiration in music. Gomez were another example of a huge amount of music genius that came from the North of England at the time. It was hard for Northern bands to get success in the South (London) But Gomez did it. Easily.
You're absolutely correct, but they very quickly faded out of the British consciousness too, by the time their 3rd album came out they were largely forgotten about by everyone who wasn't a hardcore fan.... they released countless brilliant albums since which have mostly gone unnoticed, although some TV syndications seem to have given them a backdoor success into the US scene, and they've always been a tremendous live touring act.
this & the Eels’ Last Stop This Town were a couple of the first videos I ever watched, finally reconnected with this song and I love it even more than the first go round. Thankss Gomez!!
How is this group not as big as take that? Seriously!!! Like Cooper temple clause...fukin genius musicians! ...its just amazing music, this album will always be one of my favourite albums of all time...and im a fukin hip hop nerd x
Their music was always fairly chilleed and relaxing kinda like music for afterparties or chilling in the sun. Its not the kind of music that fills concerts or stadiums.
@@Glenuig But dont think their concert's are not great. I just went to their concert in Dublin October of last year and it was one of the best concerts ive ever been too.
Hey guys I'm having trouble with my video card. It's acting all funny and I keep getting wierd stuff during the video. What should I do to fix the computer?

Mate 2024 here and this is still a legend of a tune
I have just been transported back to the 90s and I am loving every minute 😍
Without a doubt, one of the best bands of the 90s.
I always come back for seconds.
I am taking a trip down memory lane, saw these guys live - they have so many good tunes.
One of my favourite bands but I thought they were a bit disappointing live tbh?
I'm terribly jealous!!! I'd LOVE to see them live
I saw them live at cardiff university. 22 years ago. 22 years. Oh god
@@davidhill3595 You had to bring up how ancient we all feel - good times though, the late 90s
@@shaunm666 They were on the night I saw then, it was indoor (1000), could has been the venue, maybe they got better.
I saw Gomez live , this track brings back so many great memories. Everyone was full of doves and loads of love.
Doves, mitzibishis, smiley faces, omegas, speckled,

Awesome when all 3 of them sing together in harmony.
So many incredible experiences and memories to this album. Saw them live in Auckland, New Zealand many moons ago - epic live. Timeless songs. Thank you.
I like the “many moons ago”!
this album was my sound track for the summer of 98! f'in love this band!!!!
I had forgotten just how much I loved this song. And the band as well, for that matter.
Love Gomez. Outstanding live.
Best band ever I've been a Gomez fan for years
The coolest, cruisiest, laid-back shuffle song that ever there was.
seems like yesterday me and my buddies were high as kites, cruising the streets of Sheffield with the CD of Bring it On at full volume. that was 2001
Great album to mong out with the lads to.
Fkn hippy haha
I was in Doncaster doing the same thing with my mates. 🤣

Amazing band, great tunes and fantastic 'live'
If their not great live they ain't worth shibbidy-dip!
Saw Ben Ottewell live today at Focus Wales, been a huge Gomez fan for a while, This music video is a masterpiece!
I only just noticed the reggae groove on this tune. Awesome, I love Gomez. My favourite band when I was at college.
Incredible band. Combined classical blues music with 90s Britpop sensibilities.
Havent heard this song in YEARS. Found the title scrawled in a notebook from 9th grade(Im 27 now), just had to hear it again :) Thanks for posting!
There's nothing better than a little slice of well crafted craziness.
Just went back in time, gave so many good memories to that!!
2021 and still listening
💜✌️💜
Still perfectly fresh today as the day it was released. That's what makes Gomez great.
Love TH-cam and VEVO. They both bring me home ❤
"He only grows"❤❤❤🌲
Cant understand why they r not known by all of the UK.....THEY R AMAZING
I used to listen to this all the time when playing driver when it just came out. Excellent song
Driver and Gomez go together like cheese and wine...you've just solved my Sunday afternoon boredom. Thanks.

You can't get music like this these days the magic has gone
True that
It angers me that when I search 'Gomez' Selena Gomez shows up. So incredibly underrated!
Read my mind stole my thunder 😀👍
Hahaha just happened to me looking for their radio one sessions back in the day
I had the exact same thought my friend. Looking for Gomez live recordings, Selena Gomez was all over the place. So sad
Maybe if they could have keep making albums as good as bring it on they'd have kept killing it.
Love them! Confused why they have not broken through.
Absolutely a classic
2019 still jammin
So cool, so creative. Love it!
2024 and still sound new refreshing and inspiring
Absolutely brilliant... I feel like going and getting arrested, just so I can sing this in the cell x bet the plod would be singing it on the way home
This brings back so many memories superb cheers for posting!!!!!!
Quality!
Ridiculously under-rated band.
Still watching and listening to music that gets it in 2023☘️
Great band
Best band in the world!
Thank you!
Gosh they looked so young back then and I used to think they looked old!
These guys are welsh right? I sort of remember them… somewhere distant .. from my childhood…good song.
"He only grows for guys he knows. And me" good vibes.
de mis bandas favoritas...
Brilliant tune
Gomez singer Ben Ottewell is on stage Friday night at London Unhinged Festival if you guys are around!
Great tune and this video is pretty funny :)
That looked like so much fun.
Cool and underrated.
Another weird video from this band.... but I like this song too, and I like that all the guys sing... cool!
Lovely to see Paul Dano on bass...
Their first album is my favourite by far.
Love em... 👌
the chorus sounds similar to "mary in the mystery world" by the electric boys.
Great tune!
I love your songs.
The song that got me addicted to all things Gomezza back in 1997...
1998
Fun track
This is a fucking great song
indeed
This song is boss
Absolutely!
All the songs this band sings are good
Remember hearing this on DC101
👏👏👏🙌🙌love it
The song is obviously great but the video is totally brilliant in its own right.
Correct! Just what exactly are the technicians trying to achieve? Hilarious and I notice a new experiment every time I see this
Gotta love that bass
very very clever band . er very Original ..
i just searched gomez for selena and i came here. glad i did.
Who’s still listening in 2014
Got a haircut yesterday 😁✌️♥️
Bro's a time traveller
These guys are so underrated.....but why?!
Their music was always fairly chilleed and relaxing kinda like music for afterparties or chilling in the sun. Its not the kind of music that fills concerts or stadiums.
Need to ask those who "rate". Criminal in my opinion.
They are not underrated.

People like coldplay and voted for the Nazis.. you cant trust people
does the book in the key to freedom advert simply say "write a book on how to annoy the clarence off someones mink??"
@pro891630 I know! Same with Whipping Piccadilly. They were so cool and just about to take over the world.
Utter fuckin class.....simple.
this is like an old friend
All time greatest albums ever made. Check out California. My favorite song
Which year did this originally come out? Why the hell doesn't TH-cam post that in the info section? V annoying. Anyway, ahem.. Great song :D
released in 1998
+SethHesio TH-cam doesn't control that. It's up to the poster.
reminds me of driving round in a bmw pills thrills and spills , good times
Not underrated, they just didn't (want to) sell their souls. Easy as..
be commercial basically?
explain..
Current mood
I am! What is the issue? Music is timeless. Not only timeless but extremely subjective too!
one of the most underated bands around
Absolutely, I love them.
Well alright. So cool.
@pro891630
The previous post of this was removed so EMI could get their due.
Who's still listening and watching in 2019?
I saw them live last weekend!
I saw Ben doing a solo gig yesterday. He's still got an amazing voice.

this track reminds me of midori shooters
the backing singer is ben ottewell, think ray lamontagne was still in short pants when this was recorded :)
he looks like him?
