It's sad many churches have let something like this go, many don't have singing practice, nobody knows the women and mens parts in songs anymore. The days when all the country church's sounded like this or better
These songs with every one together in unity singing gives you an idea what would the world would be like if we were all united in the same song the word of God in heaven 🙏🙂
@@corkjv No, the new order broke off from the old order due to issues of the assurance of salvation and clean living, they actually believe pretty similar to the Mennonites
I am a trained pianist and organist and specialize in church music. The song is not a "hymn"; it is a gospel song that is sung in evangelical churches. It is very interesting to me that they have been allowed to use a "gospel" song since their usual singing would be hymn tunes sung in the Old German language. I suspect that this group is not among the more restrictive groups of Amish. The more liberal Amish groups have adopted many practices of the evangelical churches such as the use of gospel hymns. From a musical standpoint, their singing it acapella (without musical instruments) gives it an extra charm and beauty.
They allow more technology. I am not sure about the clothing. The dresses of the girls in this video remind me of the dresses that the nuns in the convent wear I am working for.
From what I have observed in Ohio the primary difference doctrinally would be that the New Order Amish teach "new birth experience" with Jesus Christ and an "assurance of salvation". Your old order Amish would be more down the lines of "follow the traditions of the forefathers, be a good amishman and HOPE that you will make it to heaven". To say that you have an assurance of salvation would be considered bragging. My grandfather taught the "New Birth" as a young Old Order amish minister in the 50s. He was silenced because of it and eventually left. Bear in mind that the differences between Old Order and New Order are constantly changing. In the 70s and 80s before cell phones came out the New Order could have telephones in their homes. Today the Old Order are allowed to have cell phones on their person and New Order do not allow them. Today the Old Order have E-bikes whereas the New Order prohibits them. So in many ways the Old Order have become more liberal than the New Order. This is a complete 180 from how it was 30 years ago.
If only we could get folks to see the 4th Commandment was established at creation. It's origins were not Hebrew. Jesus Christ established His holy 7th day at creation. Sunday is false worship. God said the sunset at Friday until sunset on sabbath (Saturday).
I find all their a capella music sounds the same and has the same predictable and dull chord progressions. Everything sounds revivalist and early American, like it came right off the frontier.
When one knows Jesus, he is a Victor because Jesus conquered sin and the grave. No other God or Savior exists outside of Jesus. All religions which do not have Jesus have no victory and will never win.
Once I drifted out in sin, had no hope nor joy within,
And my soul was brurdened down with pride;
Then my Savior came along and he showed me I was wrong and
Now I know I'm on the winning side
From the straight and narrow wayi was drifting every day,
Out upon the waters deep and wide;
But it all is over now, glory light is on my brow,
And my soul is on the winning side
I will never have a fear, for my Lord is ever near,
And in him so often I confide;
He's the keeper of my soul since I gave him full control,

I love the purity, innocence, and devotion to God I see in Amish ladies.
Such beautiful singing. It much shows that they have sung this Hymn many times.

Very good job and a beautiful hymn we all love.
Remember, in God's mercy, the Amish have embraced a works brand of salvation pray for their souls.
That's correct . They belive in grace + works for salvation , which makes them not saved. If any meet them try to witness
@@corkjv These are new order amish, they don,t believe that.
@samuellackey1555 of course they do. They have the same statement of faith and articles. Just more modern stuff

Still it’s a odd text for a hymn. ‘I am on the winning side’.. Are they in competition? Is there a loosing site too? Just wondering…
Satan is the losing side when God triumphs in the judgement of the wicked at the end of time.

Yes, I believe they are New Order Amish.

I would like to know why they think they are on the winning side.
They are on the winning side because they are on Jesus's side.
the winning side is for all that wanna be winners!! Did they say they won??? No!! you make it sound like they said they won.
They are on the winning side because they have huge family.

oi, Andy, they look around, say "Andy's not 'ere, we're definitely winnin'."
