SHOW NOTES:
Better Together Life means that our family is better when we are all together. Which is a good thing because we have a lot of kids. But it is our mission to create entertaining and inspiring stories for people like us who want to do what we do.
I may have used some photos or images in this video that deserve credit--

Pre heat incubator and calbrate temp and moisture. Helps with higher hatch rate..handle eggs gently...just like a hen does....read read read... Set up a brooder hood for babies and warm it before place chicks inside.
Awsome chickies. I make sauerkraut. Easy cabbage, pickling salt, and caraway seed. Cut it up. I use a crock or a gallon jar. Pack it down tight as you can. I use a plate upside down, and put it on top of the cabbage, then wrap a brick with foil and set it on top of the plate. This keeps the cabbage down in the brine. Then just let it ferment. Delicious. P.S. I love your kids so much.
Chickens!!!!! I'm so excited! 🐣
My fav infomercial was the paint stick. It sucked up paint into the handle and you rolled it on your wall.
Can't wait to the 🐣! Good resource for your homestead hope you get more animals. All your kids are beautiful. Have fun!
Thank you Olga!!!!!!
“All of the baby’s are sleeping” my heart melted so hard
Have fun watching the incubator. All the chickens we have now we incubate it our own stock.
So true! That’s our plan in the long run. But this is just going to be a fun experiment. 😁
@@BetterTogetherLife yes all of y'all will have a great time. Need anything give me a call.
Great video. I have done it and the kids love it.
Ooohh!!!! Let the excitement beging!!! Yay 😁😁😍
If you look at. The Crocker Homestead vlog. There in Texas..They have been incubating their eggs first time and on yesturdays vlog the first chick hatched..Gotta see todays vlog to see how many more hatched
Yay!!!!! We love the Crockers!!!!
I'm excited for the chickens!
Country Girl Grit watching from Myrtle Beach S.C.
Awesome! Thank you for watching. 😁👍🏻
I try not to use my phone after 8 at night but as I was plugging it in I saw you got CHICKEN EGGS!!! So I had to take a peek I'm legit excited for you and jealous as I'm not allowed to have chickens here. 😞 But! I'm thinking maybe I can get away with couternex quail! 😀 Anyway congrats on your first eggs!
Yay!!!!! I am so glad that you stayed up to watch. 😁😁😁😁
So I hope you get a whole bunch of chicks in some 28 ish days... Hey! then you'll be able to enjoy "Green Eggs and Ham" for breakfast in the fall. Have fun watching the chicks hatch... The kids (and you) will get a kick watching them hatch ... Enjoy . :)
How was your hatch rate just purchased same incubator any luck
It worked great! For this round we hatched 18 out of 22 (I think). But I think that was due to the eggs. You won’t get 100%
The off white colored eggs might be silkies but I could be wrong
What you are seeing is the yolk...the part of the egg with all the DNA...white is like amonic fluid.
Hello sir how are you can you tell please how can i buy this machine i want to buy can you help me please am from London uk
Good luck!
Hi sir how are you please can you help me i want to bay this incubator where can i get from am from London i looked everywhere i can’t find it please help me
I got it from tractor supply. No idea about London. Sorry!
Always store them small end down!!!!!! Air pocket is in large end.
What brand is that incubator?
I love it! Haven't seen the hatching video yet. Did it work well?? Are you happy with the incubator??
Thinking about getting one so I can hatch quail eggs.
Get with “White House on the hill” they hatch all eggs including emu. That’s what y’all need is an emu.
Hahahaha, Emu’s sound kind of cool.....but dude I don’t know if I’m down with Velociraptor claws walking around the property.
It is very likely that I am over reacting, but that’s been our discussion when we talked about Emus. BUT.....Emus sure are a trendy topic on TH-cam! 🤣🤣
Better Together Life now you’re being dramatic. I think it would fit perfectly with your style of weirdness
Dude!!!! Have you seen one of these things full size?? I HAVE!!! And here’s a video about it!

Better Together Life yes we have an emu farm about a half hour from me and they are totally tame.
Favorite Infomercial: Anything with Billy Mayes; he excitment and beard made the world a better place.

I'm very eggstatic over this whole endeavor!
I think they have the same incubator
We incubated 2 baby quail once by HAND turning, I think for 40 days. It was a long time. And then they died because we didn't have a proper brooder. Get your brooder in place! :)
Oh no!!!!!!! That would be terrible! Jeannie so sorry for that!! 😐
That’s what she said😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bring on the the chickens!!!! Yay!!!
When you realize that incubator eggs don't need humidity to hatch and don't lockdown and you dont have to count days to hatch
Wut!!??
Not to be super bossy, Brothertons, but my suggestion to you is to try to hatch as many of those gray green eggs as you can because those eggs are low in cholesterol as a general rule. I'm not sure what breed the dark brown eggs are but those are those nice big brown eggs that you can get at HEB. Have a lot more flavor to them than your plain white eggs.
Also, contact Jason and JayLena at the Crocker Family Homestead because their batch of eggs are starting to hatchhatchnow now in their incubator. As of this morning, April 1st , they had five chicks hatched out. I am hoping that Jason will put the video on later this evening.
@Nurse Kimberly my former nurse manager had a special breed of chickens that produced those olive green eggs and they were purported to have a lower cholesterol count than other breeds. The breed that Mary raised originated in France . I have heard this same statement made by several people who have raised chickens about this particular type of breed. As far as other nutritional values are concerned, they are identical with the brown free-range, cage-free chickens or the white eggs, or any of the others. One of my friends and coworkers ,who was also a registered nurse, would only buy the green eggs that Mary's chickens produced and swore that her cholesterol count came down. Since Carmen, God rest her soul, was a very non-compliant diabetic, and I would watch her eat during our 12 to 16 hour shifts, I suspect that using those green eggs was about the only thing that she did to her diet that would have lowered the cholesterol. Personally, I probably have no room to throw rocks in a glass house; I am trying my best to change some very poor eating habits that I've acquired in over 38 years of nursing. If you have been in the profession any length of time you know that we nurses rarely practice what we preach when it comes to eating and diet. I commend Beau and Kelly for doing the job that they are doing to break a cycle of over consumption and to be more Eco and carbon friendly. That entails growing a lot of their food on their Homestead. It will take a few years for them to get to where it's 100% but I have no doubt that they will achieve that purpose.
