Ahh good ol' TB. I remember being in his massive outfit (guild/clan) in Planetside 2 back during its release. So much hype when 100s (maybe thousands) of us went storming into battle there for the first time. Wouldn't have had that memory without him.
Potentially, he also could have easily heard this before he started filming since he came late. What's more important is what he says about the announcements, not anticipating what the announcements are after they've already been announced.
Dragonflight is honestly the best expansion that WoW has had in years. While it has not been perfect, it has legitimately been the breath of fresh air the game has needed.
It's good but it's basically just laying the groundwork for the actual redemption to come with these next 3. DF on it's own cannot fully wash away the bad taste that BFA and SL left.

The difference with Cataclysm is that much of its controversy came from how unfinished it all felt. Whether it was half-finished storylines, zones that varied wildly in quality, or a completely botched ending, it promised so much and failed to deliver on much of it. It honestly feels crazy to me that Blizzard is going to actually bank on Cataclysm nostalgia, considering just how many players quit specifically because of that expansion. Bringing Metzen back was probably one of the greatest decisions Blizzard has made in the past ten years. This man singlehandedly carried the Opening Ceremony all the way to the finish line. Bravo, Mister Metzen, and welcome back. o7
Your idea of 'go back to all the old places before we go to new places' was executed quite well by GW2 when they were in a content lull waiting for the new expansion with really good rewards.
The idea of characters not knowing who the Sword was aimed at is weird considering we got an entire expansion of Magni going on about Azeroth and her WOONS.
This is the 8th or 9th reaction to this I have seen and it is my favorite by far. Started watching you back in the OMFGCATA days and I got to say watching you call out all the things that were about to be revealed and explaining what you would do to bring people like yourself back had me with the biggest grin on my face. I am not even all the way through the reaction but man I just had to say this. Keep it up Jesse!
I loved Cataclysm. Hopefully with the new heroic+ dungeon system we can get the dungeons as they were pre-nerf. Also maaan Cata was when I first found Jesse and TB. I still go back and watch TB's goblin play through, or Jesse's troll swim/flying to Erasure. I'm hyped!
Yeah, the Heroic+ dungeons serve a great purpose in not getting people too used to facerolling dungeons. I do wonder how much CC we'll actually need these days considering how we still barely use any - but at least people are more ready for bosses not just falling over in 5 seconds and ignoring every mechanic then wondering why you wiped in Throne of the Tides.
Regarding to Anduin and Thrall not knowing who's calling out to them. I guess if you think about it only Magni ever heard Azeroth's voice during BFA. Thrall was late to the party as well. I guess they wouldn't know for sure if it is Azeroth.
Yeah I think from their perspective, that giant sword was "Oh, Sargeras was trying to cut our planet in half but failed." not knowing the specifics about Azeroth. Now they're realizing "Wait, he wasn't just trying to fillet the planet, he was aiming for something specific."
23:36 To be fair, this is just Jesse misunderstanding. No one is "spending money on stuff", that screen is showing the rewards you get for various PvP ranks. So I get the skepticism, and I get why someone (myself included) wouldn't like a mobile game, but when asking "Who is this for?", I think the answer is quite simple: Young people. Jesse says it several times in the video: He's old. He doesn't get young people - I don't either - but if a 12-year-old sees the new WoW cinematic, they probably won't get hooked, but if they get funneled in through a mobile game, they might eventually try something like WoW or Hearthstone. A common complaint has been "Why hasn't Blizzard done more with the Warcraft IP?", but when they then expand the available media to younger generations, the complaint is "Noo, this isn't for me, expand it but not in THIS way!" So while this mobile game ain't for me, I am all for the Warcraft IP broadening. Be it through WoW, Hearthstone, Rumble, Hardcore, a movie, a TV series, a book, a children's cartoon, whatever. Gimme more - even if I don't play it. Don't turn it into StarCraft and let the IP rot in a single game.
Not a WoW player but as someone who has followed the WarCraft lore loosely this entire time I am happy to see the OG Windrunner, Alleria, front and centre. Who better to be the lone person seeing alternative visions? After all: You don't touch the other elves like that.
Metzen is such a lovable personality. It's good that warcraft has him back and I hope it means good things for the story. The only thing that worries me is that the "3 expansion reveal" means in practice, that they're going to start selling major patches as expansions. Hopefully I am wrong about that.
Jesse your reaction videos always make me re-excited for what's coming as if I haven't already watched it before coming here. The way you kept pausing and saying you want things that ended up being what is revealed had me giggling something fierce lol.
Never agreed with Jesse more in my life. I didn't think I'd ever play WoW again... but this really does feel like a moment that oldschool players can really come back and enjoy. IF it plays out as advertised, we'll at the very least get some great story and an actual answer to a lot of questions that have been around since the mid 2000s.
@@stakkadakka3427 I was speaking about him guessing they were going to announce multiple expansions at once, and revisit/redo old continents. Where the story was going was obvious.
I'm so glad Jesse had the same reaction as me to the Classic Cata thing. I was just so confused. But it definitely brought me back to the old days of watching those Cataclysm beta videos with Jesse and TB. That's the REAL nostalgia involved with that expansion. The rest you can still play in game right now on retail.
to give a little context for jesse if he reads this, the whole seasons of discovery thing is to test the ideas of classic+, making new end game content for vanilla classic, theyve already confirmed that after we get to lvl 60 and clear the raids and such in SOD, they will be making new raids and content for vanilla
Watching Jesse be so unimpressed with hearthstone as I’m playing it lol. Earlier this week I started watching TB’s (rip) and Jesse’s Cata videos, never got to watch back in the day so happy to be able to be entertained by them now! Wishing everyone a great weekend!
Your insight was great and always love seeing your predictions hit spot on. This feels like something Warcraft has really needed and I'm very hopeful it's done well.
Not sure if you're aware Jesse, but there's two branches of Classic. The original vanilla, which has hardcore and seasonal, then the 'old' classic, which will be updated to Cata. The season of discovery will only be on vanilla classic.
I mean I get it - but like - it's still when MASSIVE changes took place and I personally feel pushed the game beyond classic. I don't know - seems weird to me. But I don't play classic so what do I care.
We'll probably get a deep dive later. I suspect its mostly "shorter phases and rebalances and a few quality of life improvements". Honestly that's all it needs. I doubt we'll get a rework of Dragon Soul, so let's keep expectations down on huge changes.
As someone who started watching you back when you did vids on the Cataclysm beta, it's always cool still to see your views on it all, even if you're not that involved with Blizzard games anymore!
For the Hearthstone stuff, it was pretty much all stuff that people new about for the last month or so. They have even been releasing cards from that expansion for the last several weeks
I like the idea of classic cata just because it time-capsules the cata versions of the zone and freees blizzard to make much needed updates to the old world without feeling like they're taking anything away
2:30 - Face Off, a competition reality show on SyFy from 2011 to 2018, where competitors would have to make film-quality prosthetics and makeup to create characters for a sci-fi, horror, or fantasy theme each week. There was quite a few gaming related episodes, they did Resident Evil, Dishonored, Warcraft, and others.
I was definitely one of those voices way back when which despised what Cataclysm did, and I still do. It was the expansion I quit upon, after enjoying WotLK so thoroughly. That all the dirty laundry came out after I quit completely and effectively bricked my Blizzard account was my final statement on the company and I never really looked back. ...I still like the callbacks in the cinematic, though.
Yeah, Cata was the expac where I first stopped subbing to WoW, and was an expac I never had any real desire to play, but I did come back during Mists and had a lot of fun, but once again left halfway through WoD's release, came back for Legion, and again left halfway through BFA and early into SL. While DF was alright, I still ended up leaving that expac at the halfway mark, simply because it felt too calm of an expac and a safe testing of the waters. I might come back for the War Within expac, but I dunno, I'm not really up for more of the same as the last expect kinda ideal (especially when it's been shown that the new expac is literally reusing DF assets).
The message is about what the devs team went through and now they are ready move on for a new future. I can clearly see references to Metzen and the company having to struggle too but they are back in the game!!
God i haven't been able to enjoy WoW since Legion, here's my hopes that these next expansions keeps me on the edge of my seat for whats about to happen.
I think some people forget that Magni only told US about the Heart of Azeroth. Nobody else was really informed or let in on what was going on because we were at war over Azerite at the time, and he didn't want any of them to get involved. Only a select few were privy to what Magni and the "Champion" were doing. So it's not exactly hard to believe that nobody else really understood why Sargaras both stabbed the planet and who that voice is.
I need this confidence from Blizz if they got the balls to announce 3 fucking expansions in a single day they have to believe that it will work, and god I hope it does
23:45 it also looks to have an Energy system so that line about always having something to do when you open the game has the caveat of as long as you have the energy left to play it if not you better spend some gems to get a refresh.
I don't think people so much changed their minds (at least people my age - 40s). But this was my son's first expansion and he was 13 or 14 and is in his late 20s now. Those kids loved cata and they aren't kids anymore. Guessing those folks gave a lot of feedback.
I left WoW quite a few years ago but seeing my absolute favourite character Anduin back and this saga journey supposedly tying up the loose ends, I must say I'm quite intrigued. I might give it a chance but I'd like to see more details first. Also Jesse wth, your predictions were so on point. XD Edit: Also finally THE SWORD.
Had a similar reaction to you, Jesse. Just... was on the fence and then bam. They got me. I really hope Anduin goes through hell in these expansions. Guy needs a character arc. His dad dying is just not enough.
My favorite part of BlizzCon was Chris Metzen, the orignal writer that everyone props up as the person who made Warcraft "a man's game where big strong men went to kill other men" directly targeted those people with an emotional cinematic. Asmongold got hardcore vibe-checked.
I was actually sitting on the edge of my seat when metzen spoke, I am sooo hyped for this new direction. I really loved the beginning of dragonflight and I now main an evoker but yes it really fell off towards the end so I dearly hope we get answers in the next one

Same here, when cata was brought up it triggered a lot of memories playing it, highschool years, learning of Jesse, tb and dodger back then.
cata dungeons pre nerf was roughly pull too much = death lol
@@ElmokillaXDK Or "use CC or die". Good times, if you had a good group. Got rid of the bad players really quickly too.
OMG the Erasure moment, I forgot about that xD
I'm not personally a wow fan. but the presentation on blizzcon was hype and I'm hype to see my fave youtuber's view on it. love you Jesse.
Hear... Feel... Think...
Never been done before 😋
Was really funny watching this after watching it myself. Just Jesse predicting things about to happen constantly 🤣
A common complaint has been "Why hasn't Blizzard done more with the Warcraft IP?", but when they then expand the available media to younger generations, the complaint is "Noo, this isn't for me, expand it but not in THIS way!"
So while this mobile game ain't for me, I am all for the Warcraft IP broadening.
Dragonflight was a safe xpac to calm the water. It did its job.
Thrall got hit with the "Hear, Feel, Think" vision.
Metzen is such a lovable personality. It's good that warcraft has him back and I hope it means good things for the story. The only thing that worries me is that the "3 expansion reveal" means in practice, that they're going to start selling major patches as expansions. Hopefully I am wrong about that.
Also, one of the things I love about Chris is that, every few sentences or phrases, his lil' inner Thrall peeps his head out.
Jesse your reaction videos always make me re-excited for what's coming as if I haven't already watched it before coming here. The way you kept pausing and saying you want things that ended up being what is revealed had me giggling something fierce lol.
So glad Metzen is back. He keeps delivering.
Everyone: There's no way ANYONE could have predicted a multiple expansion announcement
Coxtradamus:
I lost my shit laughing when The Sword came into the picture and Jesse's face! xD
1:03:55 that reaction just filled me with utter joy and cackling laughter 😂🤣
I've no idea what the sword is, or when it was introduced, but I'm excited for y'all
Legion. The titan Sargeras impaled Azeroth.
"You can't change until you give me the sword!" DOES HE EVER MISS???
Never agreed with Jesse more in my life. I didn't think I'd ever play WoW again... but this really does feel like a moment that oldschool players can really come back and enjoy. IF it plays out as advertised, we'll at the very least get some great story and an actual answer to a lot of questions that have been around since the mid 2000s.
The Last Titan name goes hard.
Jesse are you sure you didn't watch this ahead of time, you were too on point with your predictions! xD
Everything was setup. It just took this long to happen. That past 2 xpacs were filler.
@@stakkadakka3427 I was speaking about him guessing they were going to announce multiple expansions at once, and revisit/redo old continents. Where the story was going was obvious.
He does this all the time 😂
I'm so glad Jesse had the same reaction as me to the Classic Cata thing.
The nozdormu storyline is done in dragonflight, but he'll definitely have a part in midnight and last Titan.
I love how you talked over the part where she said Cata Classic will have changes. Now we don't know what that means exactly, but it's something.
I doubt we'll get a rework of Dragon Soul, so let's keep expectations down on huge changes.
it will be the same as wrath clssic its on the last patch and phases of content with some QOL.
As someone who started watching you back when you did vids on the Cataclysm beta, it's always cool still to see your views on it all, even if you're not that involved with Blizzard games anymore!
Warcraft has the giant sword, Marvel has a giant alien head. Giant things just have to stay unresolved.
Have you ever wonder what it would be like to be a Shaman Tank?
YES! I have and you took that from me!
"cries in corner"
For the Hearthstone stuff, it was pretty much all stuff that people new about for the last month or so. They have even been releasing cards from that expansion for the last several weeks
Parts of Metzens speech/presentation reminds me of when CLU was giving his huge "let's escape the grid" speech.
Grats on your 1M subs JC! Jesse Cata were great times!!
"I dont give a DAMN about the alliance!"
Hell yeah my Horde brother
Welcome back, Jesse 😊
"That's where the sword pierced..." Bruh... how did I not realize that...
I like the idea of classic cata just because it time-capsules the cata versions of the zone and freees blizzard to make much needed updates to the old world without feeling like they're taking anything away
So, Jessie, the nozdormu storyline has concluded recently in Dragonflight.
The differences between the crowd at Fanfest and here at Blizzcon are so pronounced.
i will say one thing they repeated some lines we got from the dragon flight reveal we are returning home this is a new beginning etc etc
All will be revealed in the World Soul Saga...
Except the snake tail in Zul'drak, that comes later. 😉
"Someone call Mojomaker" my HEART
The message is about what the devs team went through and now they are ready move on for a new future. I can clearly see references to Metzen and the company having to struggle too but they are back in the game!!
God i haven't been able to enjoy WoW since Legion, here's my hopes that these next expansions keeps me on the edge of my seat for whats about to happen.
The world soul just hear, feel think'ed Anduin lol
I think some people forget that Magni only told US about the Heart of Azeroth. Nobody else was really informed or let in on what was going on because we were at war over Azerite at the time, and he didn't want any of them to get involved. Only a select few were privy to what Magni and the "Champion" were doing. So it's not exactly hard to believe that nobody else really understood why Sargaras both stabbed the planet and who that voice is.
Waited to watch the reveal until I could see this, I normally don't care for reaction video's but always enjoy your take Jesse!
I need this confidence from Blizz if they got the balls to announce 3 fucking expansions in a single day they have to believe that it will work, and god I hope it does
Bobby Kotick is out, Chris Metzen is back in and Blizzard is back on track, I have high hopes!!!
A Bobby Kotick's gone celebration stream? This is the best idea.
Guessing those folks gave a lot of feedback.
that poor lady that had to do the hearthstone presentation. i really feel for her.
I left WoW quite a few years ago but seeing my absolute favourite character Anduin back and this saga journey supposedly tying up the loose ends, I must say I'm quite intrigued. I might give it a chance but I'd like to see more details first.
Also Jesse wth, your predictions were so on point. XD
Edit: Also finally THE SWORD.
I love how good jesse is at seeing things coming before they happen just based on what people said
They hired Hurricane (Community cinematic guy) to do that cata trailer. That's in his style.
Announcing 3 expansions shows confidence I think. We're locked in now and I'm ready for the ride.
I started in Cata, mostly thanks to Jesse and TotalBiscuit, covering it back then.
Can't help hearing "ketchup packs" at the Hearthstone bit and it's hilarious
I love how many times we get a deep, quiet, meaningful "...shit" as Jesse slowly realizes he needs to start paying "rent" again haha
Azeroth: Hear, Feel, Thi-
Hydaelyn: DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE!!!!
one of my first videos from jesse was his coverage from cataclysm. and here we are again xD The day that deathwing came
18:27 To steal a joke from the GG crew, Onyxia looks like she's got a Donkey lover waiting in her cave.
Had a similar reaction to you, Jesse. Just... was on the fence and then bam. They got me. I really hope Anduin goes through hell in these expansions. Guy needs a character arc. His dad dying is just not enough.
I mean, he kinda did literally go through hell in Shadowlands.
True. I just... really don't like SL but... he definitely did. I just want him to make more mistakes and be human. Not a perfect angel. You know?
People shitposted "What sword?" for so long, they finally did something with it.
My favorite part of BlizzCon was Chris Metzen, the orignal writer that everyone props up as the person who made Warcraft "a man's game where big strong men went to kill other men" directly targeted those people with an emotional cinematic. Asmongold got hardcore vibe-checked.
Norzdormu storyline was concluded in dragonflight
Is it? Damn, maybe I gotta play
I was actually sitting on the edge of my seat when metzen spoke, I am sooo hyped for this new direction. I really loved the beginning of dragonflight and I now main an evoker but yes it really fell off towards the end so I dearly hope we get answers in the next one
