Couldn't agree more ! We did a short film in the spring and it was a learning experience. So much so I'm taking a digital film making class next week over the spring just to get to learn more about film making to help me write better.
Outstanding. Congrats on the film and the class. I had an uncle that constantly did classes until he passed away. I have had a Masterclass subscription for years. I have done their cooking stuff, writing, hostage negotiation, so much to learn. That for the comment. And engaging with other commenters.
I struggle with knowing how much to include. I can see the point behind mentioning all the guitars, because it says something about the character. On the other hand, I wouldn't mention the chair, even though it is obvious the character needs a place to sit, because the room should have a chair. I'm reluctant to put anything on the page that doesn't advance the story, but having never sold a script, I don't know if I found the right level of detail to include.
I cannot remember exactly what I said regarding the chair. I always place the character, so if I said sits on a chair, is different to stands or squats. Just giving the position of the person, which is often forgotten. I aim for the feel of a room. The way you would feel walking in. A country kitchen vs industry looking vs minimalist. I will use a reference most people have. When comes to advancing the story, that is a cool topic for a video, I try to give the readers just enough to prevent a misunderstanding. I think a misunderstand may stop the advancement of the story. It would stop their experience and make them rethink, not in a good way. Thank you for your comment.

Reading the script and then watching the movie really helps.

For me, reading a screenplay is always the answer.👍
