I’m a Broncos fan definitely not happy with Ezra’s suspension and fine I can’t believe the NRL came down hard on Pearce and Carney but not Ezra to which he could have killed 3 people.
The NRL needed to come down hard and they haven’t not sending a good message out to NRL it just goes to show these players can get away with anything unless you’re a fringe player or a player out of your prime then you’re getting sacked.

There's a poor little girl out there , feeling very let down by the police, the judicial system, the NRL and the Broncos. How does this young man learn his lessons of life if he keeps getting special treatment , It's just wrong across the board . If Madge hasn't sacked him (and he should have ) because of the board ,well that's already the beginning of the end for Madge !

Good stuff man, some really solid points you raised in there. 💚
On one hand - the blame is on the NRL. Brisbane owe a duty to themselves, so naturally won't punish Mam in a way that is 'just' or 'fair'. They want their 6 playing as soon as possible. So the NRL have a moral obligation to step in and punish him fairly.
But to me, I think that's maybe falling into a trap of expecting too much from the NRL. We demand justice and law enforcement from them, when they are neither a judicial nor legal body. They're a business with their own interests, and those interests are to get Ezra playing ASAP, and for people to move on from the issue. I think they've made a calculated gamble that the boos won't ring out long enough to damage their brand. Morally speaking - that's disappointing.
(Also just as an aside - whenever something major like this happens, the default yardstick people refer to is Mitchell Pearce. But over half a decade ago the NRL admitted that punishment was way too harsh. Yet it still gets used as some supposed guideline. Obviously you do you but it's not a reference point I'd use).

Im not excusing what happened at all, but from my POV a lot of the outrage seems to be because of who did it, not what happened. Biggest example is when people try to bring up Carney getting sacked for less when he did more and worse than and he was given multiple chances.
Also with the dogs, if it was Critta, Burto, Mahoney etc in Fox’s position I guarantee they don’t get the sack. They saw a chance to move on from an often injured, underperforming player on a large wicket and took it, using it as a comparison is disingenuous.
At the end of the day, young bloke thought he was invincible, found out he isn’t and is being given a chance to redeem himself. Says hes sincere so until he proves otherwise nothing else that can really be done besides trust that fact. 9 weeks, 120k fine which is a lot of money plus hes gonna cop shit for years. Based on his charges I’d say its fair. Before anyone comes at me, do some research. Others with similar incidents have had it easier than Ezra but don’t see many complaints about that.
