When I was a police officer involved with security searching at the Tower ahead of a royal visit our dog handlers told me they couldn’t get explosives sniffer dogs to enter the White Tower !

I saw the Tower on my one and only trip to England in 1976. I went in not knowing much of anything of the history. I looked at the incredibly thick walls of the White Tower and thought, "Whoever built this was pretty unpopular😂". I looked at the small rooms of the interior and decided that people could not whisper in secret to each other, no matter what the novelists said. Above all, it instilled in me a sense of history that has never left.
Interesting fact, the glass memorial on Tower Green that marks the execution site of Anne Boleyn is not where she was really executed. This is a myth that began in 1876 when they marked the site on the green with a plaque, because the actual spot had been cobbled over. If you visit the Tower and want to stand on the actual spot where the Queen was executed, it is on the parade ground in front of the Waterloo Barracks (the building where the Crown Jewels are displayed).
I have visited the Tower of London. Seeing the Crown Jewels is a wonderful experience, but some areas such as the Green are very sad places. Many souls must have been so terrified within and without those familiar walls.
My Grandfather was a Coldstream Guard during the 50s. I think I remember hearing stories that he saw (who he thought) was Anne Bolynn a few times here. Also told me of the ceremony of the keys etc.

@@ghostcasebook1266 spent many nights on guard at the tower , fun fact the night the country went in to lockdown back in 2020 I was the senior sergeant of the guard and we carried out the ceremony of the keys to absolutely no one just the guard and the warden ( beef eaters as most know them) it was the first time this happened since the blitz during WW2 , the second night we performed the ceremony to just the governor
Legend has it , one of my ancestors, " tassel" Thomas FitzGerald was executed there, or his head brought there after the first Desmond rebellion. Ordered by their cousin, queen elizabeth 1. Later, his brother was shot off his horse and killed in Ireland by her order during the second Desmond rebellion.

When i visted the tower when I was a kid(Im American ) i didnt know much other than it was a prison and people died there. Well, during our walk around I saw a guard that was see through and a lady dressed in Tudor style clothing walking towards me. She stopped looked at me and kept walking. Me and another person saw her. He said it was Anne Boleyn. And when I saw her pic, thats who it was.
Lots of ghosts at Tower of London. It’s such a sad, desolate place and well known to have many ghosts.One if the places I will never go back too but mainly because it’s just too sad a place ? (And with good reason).

I visited the circular monument supposedly on the site of the execution of Anne Boleyn in 2010. I was standing by myself. Reflecting. I distinctly heard a woman's cultured voice saying, 'I am innocent. I did not do these things' i knew for sure that was Anne speaking to me. 9 years later i stayed overnight at Hever Castle. I got up a few times that night and looked out of the window, hoping to catch a glimpse of her walking outside, but sadly nothing.
I’m not sure if this is notable. But I am not too claustrophobic and when visiting the bloody tower for the first time and trying to ascend the staircase leading up to the exhibition for the princes in the tower, I felt an overwhelming sense of terror, that I was being enclosed in a tight space, I started to loose my breath and I had to run back down. I didn’t get to see the exhibition and I guess I’ve never really thought about how I felt until now so I thought I’d share it. Maybe I am claustrophobic, or maybe it’s something else. 😊❤ love your videos.

Hi I had a very similar experience to yourself. There is something very off about that part of the tower. I just had to get out it felt extremely odd and quite unsettling I thought. I honestly do think some people pick up on certain haunted atmospheres. I could almost feel there suffering it felt sad but traumatic somehow. Seems others on here have made similar comments. There has to be something there negative energy, poor tortured souls maybe still trapped who knows.
What happened how did it make you feel. I had a very unsettled feeling in there. I was on a happy day out. But I didn't like the atmosphere in that part of the tower at all. I just wanted to get out this was all on a sunny afternoon too. It just felt off as if something was really wrong very odd.
I'm an old Boston guy so I'm very aware of the past in regards to Redcoats but I enjoy your story telling, I find your voice calming and mesmerizing. Thank you.

I live about an hour away from the Battlefield in Gettysburg and my Daughter graduated from Gettysburg College which is adjacent to the battlefield and yes Gettysburg is quite haunted!

I don't think the royal family will allow it. As usual, they're trying to hide something. I know dna test could be done; it was done on the skeleton of Richard III when he was found under the carpark.
I'd agree that wider awareness of the ghosts/possible ghosts would lead to more sightings, but things like the guardsman fainting would be hard to fake!
Yes, I feel the same! These are professional service people trained to work in a very specific way. I know they are human but even so, they’re not usually weak physically, I think! 🙋♀️🙏
My parents took me when I was 7yrs old,two boys asked me if I wanted to play with them,I said I cant because have to stay with my dad,(my dad called me and said come on)(dad not see them)only years later I find out about the two princes,it was the older bigger of the two that asked me,and they was wearing clothes ,costume I had not seen before,at the time,I thought it was just kids dress up as part of the normal thing ther,my dad said he not see them?im 48now I can only imagine it was the two prince?Will never know??
I was born with learning difficulties and on autism spectrum but I know what I saw that day anything I have seen heard I remember but at time just think was dress up part of act?but have checked since far as know ther was nothing like that happing at time I do remember a guard standing behind them (not beef eater)standing aganist wall dress was armer with helmet with what now know be a pike, we was on wall over looking a grass area wicth I know now was Moat since then have seen lots things I cant xplane over the years but must have been the two prince see at the tower could not have been anyone else and what about guard?he was not dressed as any of the same ther but all lasted 5 seconds because dad sayd come on Darren, but that boy spoke me will never forget that
it’s interesting Darren because often you hear of children being able to see or pick up on ghostly activity that adults can’t see. And sometimes the child’s account isn’t believed by the grown ups I suppose? There have been many stories of children playing with other children only to find they’re in fact ghostly! I visited the Tower a few years ago and while looking at the suits of armour could swear I heard deep breathing like a laboured breathe about 3 ft behind me wen no one was behind me. I got a qeer feeling sensing it could of been a very fat unfit king Henry the 8th.???

Now Thomas Moore who was a very religious man, almost a fanatic and a lawyer was inprisioned there then lost his head. As did Bishop Fisher who was made a Cardinal by the Pope thinking Henry VIII would never kill a prince of the church. He was wrong. I have study the history of the Tower of London, but never heard of Beckett preventing St. Thomas' from being built before. That's a new one on me. And don't forget that Henry VIII killed two of his wives on the Tower green, Katherine Howard was beheaded with an ace. She could possibly haunt the Tower as well. The Earl of Essex lost his head as did Norfolk both by order of Elizabeth I, And Lord Stanley, the brother in law of Margaret Beaufort also lost his head having been declared a Traitor.

I don't think Catherine Howard was a lucky as Anne was when it came to her own execution. I know from my own reading that Anne was killed with a sword. I think Catherine Howard got the ax instead.

ln regard to the young princes. lf you have not already done so, l recommend that you read the book The Daughter of Time by Josephine Tey (Elizabeth MacKintosh). lt may help you form a slightly different opinion of Richard Duke of Gloucester than that held by Shakespeare.
Yes he was held in the Tower briefly before being transferred to Mytchett Place in Surrey for 13 months. His room was heavily bugged and he tried to end his life there but survived. At one point the thought Hitler was going to be imprisoned at the Tower and they installed a toilet into the cell they were going to use but Hitler was never imprisoned there.

Although drinking in the pubs of Essex in the early 90's you'd always encounter some old soak full of nostalgia about the Twins. I recall once pointing out that they were criminals. It was suggested to me that to benefit my longevity that I vacate the premises. Appreciated their concern for my health which was no doubt well meaning so I located a different watering hole. I love this but it does sound a bit scary for you to be honest! The equivalent in South Wales is lots of people claim to know Tom Jones, or they were in school with him. Same with Shirley Bassey! However, you’re unlikely to be threatened with your life over that. In Essex there were some unsettling incidents in 90s. I remember sadly the case of Leah Betts and I recently watched The Essex Murders on sky documentary. Very interesting. 🙋♀️

Very nasty although many still claim he's innocent including Mark Williams Thomas who finally exposed Savile so I respect his opinion. Yes indeed the Essex Boys. I watched the White House Farm murders drama and I thought it was very interesting but very sad. I don’t know about the Mark Williams Thomas stance but I remember there was a lot of discussion about could the victim have reached the rifle handle. All very sad. And then along came T.OW.I.E…fake teeth, tans and ‘what are you saying?’ became my favourite catch phrase ha ha!

It was in front of the northern wall of the White Tower. Again, Victorians messing with history!

Henry 8 wanted Anne to be charged with witchcraft but couldn't make the charge stick. Incest, adultery and treason were Anne's supposed crimes.
At least Henry VIII allowed Anne Boleyn to be excuted by a swordsman, rather than by an axeman.

Spirits don't like changes, so if you're building or altering something, you're prone to rncountering spirits/ghosts

She wasn't executed there - the scaffold was actually in front of where the Jewel Tower now is.
Maybe her voice travelled
English from the Tudor era wouldn't be recognizable to modern ears.
Injustice, murder, suicide can cause spirits to be tied to the area they happened upon, I'm sure there's much going on that our eyes can't see.
I really hope that the remains of the 2 little boys can be investigated and DNA tested and the mystery will be solved

I'd agree that wider awareness of the ghosts/possible ghosts would lead to more sightings, but things like the guardsman fainting would be hard to fake!
Yes, I feel the same! These are professional service people trained to work in a very specific way. I know they are human but even so, they’re not usually weak physically, I think! 🙋♀️🙏

My parents took me when I was 7yrs old,two boys asked me if I wanted to play with them,I said I cant because have to stay with my dad,(my dad called me and said come on)(dad not see them)only years later I find out about the two princes,it was the older bigger of the two that asked me,and they was wearing clothes ,costume I had not seen before,at the time,I thought it was just kids dress up as part of the normal thing ther,my dad said he not see them?im 48now I can only imagine it was the two prince?Will never know??
I was born with learning difficulties and on autism spectrum but I know what I saw that day anything I have seen heard I remember but at time just think was dress up part of act?but have checked since far as know ther was nothing like that happing at time I do remember a guard standing behind them (not beef eater)standing aganist wall dress was armer with helmet with what now know be a pike, we was on wall over looking a grass area wicth I know now was

it’s interesting Darren because often you hear of children being able to see or pick up on ghostly activity that adults can’t see. And sometimes the child’s account isn’t believed by the grown ups I suppose? There have been many stories of children playing with other children only to find they’re in fact ghostly! I visited the Tower a few years ago and while looking at the suits of armour could swear I heard deep breathing like a laboured breathe about 3 ft behind me wen no one was behind me. I got a qeer feeling sensing it could of been a very fat unfit king Henry the 8th.???

I have study the history of the Tower of London, but never heard of Beckett preventing St. Thomas' from being built before. That's a new one on me. And don't forget that Henry VIII killed two of his wives on the Tower green, Katherine Howard was beheaded with an ace. She could possibly haunt the Tower as well. The Earl of Essex lost his head as did Norfolk both by order of Elizabeth I, And Lord Stanley, the brother in law of Margaret Beaufort also lost his head having been declared a Traitor.

I am confused, if Thomas s Beckett was murdered in Canterbury cathedral, why would he haunt the Tower?
Maybe he (as former Chancellor) didn't like the tax hike to pay for it. Could he in effect be a warning ghost? 🤔🙂

Thomas was from London. He was born and raised in Cheapside, near Saint Paul's Cathedral.
Spirits can be seen in different locations.
If Charles 3rd will prove the names of those bodies it will be his best thing he's done. Just my opinion.

Yes this was a bit of an odd one but many published encyclopedia at the time said by axe and even the Tower were still including that in their tours. Who knows? 🙂
I don't think Catherine Howard was a lucky as Anne was when it came to her own execution. I know from my own reading that Anne was killed with a sword. I think Catherine Howard got the ax instead.

Wasnt Rudolf Hess the Furhers deputy briefly imprisoned there?
Yes he was held in the Tower briefly before being transferred to Mytchett Place in Surrey for 13 months. His room was heavily bugged and he tried to end his life there but survived. At one point the thought Hitler was going to be imprisoned at the Tower and they installed a toilet into the cell they were going to use but Hitler was never imprisoned there.
@@ghostcasebook1266 Ronnie and Reggie were at the Tower for a few days. Not that I knew them I'm too young! Well sorta young still! Although drinking in the pubs of Essex in the early 90's you'd always encounter some old soak full of nostalgia about the Twins. I recall once pointing out that they were criminals. It was suggested to me that to benefit my longevity that I vacate the premises. Appreciated their concern for my health which was no doubt well meaning so I located a different watering hole. I love this but it does sound a bit scary for you to be honest! The equivalent in South Wales is lots of people claim to know Tom Jones, or they were in school with him. Same with Shirley Bassey! However, you’re unlikely to be threatened with your life over that. In Essex there were some unsettling incidents in 90s. I remember sadly the case of Leah Betts and I recently watched The Essex Murders on sky documentary. Very interesting. 🙋♀️

Very nasty although many still claim he's innocent including Mark Williams Thomas who finally exposed Savile so I respect his opinion. Yes indeed the Essex Boys. I watched the White House Farm murders drama and I thought it was very interesting but very sad. I don’t know about the Mark Williams Thomas stance but I remember there was a lot of discussion about could the victim have reached the rifle handle. All very sad.
