Samsung laptops have to be the most underrated laptops on the market. With their recent lineup they've been killing it with the specs, and now even more after this specific model. I just wish they go international with these laptops so you can buy them in other countries as well. Also, like everytime the unboxing and review is absolutely amazing!
@@sumitjangraa its not only that macs are great but other laptops are extremely bad especially when it comes to battery life ,fan noise , heat , software stability and blotware.....i used windows laptops for 10 years and got into macs this year they are not even compatible.
@@mossessolomon441 I haven't used one but if you compare, Samsung is doing (or atleast trying to do) a decent job competing with Macs. It's like other companies just don't have the spirit to compete with Macs and hence the bad products. Obviously, no laptop comes close to a Mac (yet) but finally seeing something like Samsung's does give you a bit of hope.
This would be excellent but for two inexplicable self-inflicted weaknesses: no 32gb option, and the use of soldered UFS 4.0 storage rather than replaceable M.2 NVME drives.
I just preorder this laptop and I'm excited for it. However, I find it ironic that this laptop has an SD card slot for storage, Samsung makes SD cards with great storage capabilities, but they aren't putting it back in the phones. I really hope they utilize the SD cards again.
I just bought macbook air m3 two months ago.. and Im looking at swapping this to the book 4 edge or the surface.. how's the programming apps such as android studio? flutter? visual studio?
@@bassheadlife492 nah, luckily I don't have to go far since my cousin wants to buy it, but I want to know first if my programming apps will work fine haha
If you’re not in the apple ecosystem sure try out the Samsung. But if you have an iPhone it sorta doesn’t make sense, especially with phone mirroring coming up in macOS sequoia
is it just me interested in solely the battery and compute performance of the snapdragon x elite? these are the metrics that will make or break the platform.
I am mostly interested in the battery time and Linux compatibility of these laptops. Hopefully, I will get a better picture of these aspects by end of July.
There should be a distinction between reviewing the hardware (what I was here for and didn’t get as much as I wanted) and the software (Copilot, Recall, etc.)
So with this being an arm chip, does this mean it will be limited as far as compatible apps? My last arm experience meant I ran most apps through an emulation.
It’s a more powerful chip with more efficient emulation. So far, people who have their hands on some of these say that you can’t tell the difference, but wait for real reviews to see for yourself
Think it’ll be pretty decent, it was only %17 behind the m3 in rendering time while it was running under an emulation layer, so I’d say m3 or better for the native arm64 version
@@shubhamvyas9459 it is, but for the benchmarks that were already ran for blender rendering, they used the x86 version to compare against other laptops
battery definitely would be around 12-15 hours given that snapdragon team in their presentation said upto 22 hours. And given that its ARM, 15+ is easily achieveable. Moreover performance should be same with or without power cord plugged-in, unless its very GPU demanding task like games/ renders.
If you do casual gaming and mostly you work with a couple of apps at a time and mostly web/email/office, then you’ll have plenty with 16 GB of RAM. If you plan to try emulators or even x86 games, VMs, multimedia editing etc, then 32 GB will never be too much. I find for 2024 … 24 GB RAM the sweet spot.
@@diegotammariello7681 that is not entirely true, the same is valid for Apple. Going ARM and using a unified memory saves a little bit of RAM but nothing significantly. I would say that 16 GB of RAM on ARM + unified memory would be like 18-19 GB RAM on a standard x86. But you have to understand that MOST of the apps ATM are x86 and the translation to ARM uses a lot of memory too. I think 16 - 24 GB GB are what most need; if the use case needs 32 GB, then definitely also needs more CPU and GPU power than what this chip provides…
I am an Apple user but I really want an OLED in a laptop. I’m considering getting one of these because I really don’t wanna wait until late 2026 for OLED Apple laptops if it ever does come. I’m still unsure on windows though because i’ve only used Apple software my whole life.

Still doesn't talk about performance details though

I'm glad they kept the USB A port. Many times I still need that port for flashdrives, wired mice, and plugging in my desk fan.
I nearly thought that was slot loading disc tray lol
Let's be clear. They were always meant to be cup holders. 🤣🤣🤣
I'm interested in how the Snapdragon X Elite will hold up. It's either it's gonna shine or bust!

Reminds me of the forgotten Samsung Galaxy Book S which came with an ARM chip too! Design is definitely a win here.

How is the screen brightness in direct sunlight?
How the x86 apps run on this laptop.....
