I got a bad pressure sore some 20 years ago, not long after my injury. In the process of treating it, we met a doctor who introduced us to alternating pressure pads. It allows me to sleep all night without having to turn, along with many other benefits. I haven't had any problems with pressure sores since using them. Hope this helps, God bless! ❤

I totally know what you are talking about. I was born with spina bifida, and hydrocefalus, so i have a drainagesystem, controling the fluid become to much, it will flow away through the drainage, and a few days after born i got in a epileptic attack, but everything is under control now, since i was 3 years old, i was permanent in a wheelchair

Great update!!! You both look so happy to be home! Where to spend the winter... I have a few suggestions! Of course I do! 😂 Waterton International Peace Park in Wyoming (also in Canada but I don't think you can go into Canada) is an amazing State Park. The Grand Tetons if you've never been there is will blow your mind! I burst out crying the first time I went there. It's so majestic and drop-dead gorgeous! Jackson Hole, Wyoming is also amazing! Almost anywhere in Colorado in the mountains. Utah also is amazing. Flagstaff is nice but Prescott is much better and a bit smaller so not so crowded! Jerome the ghost town near Prescott is also nice but it might be difficult for a wheelchair. It has a great history! Sedona in the winter is fabulous because most of the tourists are not there! And if you do go into Sedona stop at the many Vortexes in the area, take your crystals and clear them... I did that and it was pretty amazing! The Grand Canyon in the winter is another magical place with the mesa's dusted with snow! Wherever you end up you will make it special because that's who you are! Can't wait to see what's next for you both!

You guys look so relieved since the surgery, I’ve have 4 surgeries due to my psoriatic arthritis and I can totally relate to questioning if your body is going to fail you or support you, I’ve found myself having ptsd just going to see my surgeon that I love and trust

I appreciate your willingness to share so much of your life. Thank you. I’m an old polio survivor with one paralyzed leg and a noticeable limp. Nevertheless I was on my feet all day for years and years in retail. During all that time, I was very frank with all who worked with me about my handicap. In fact, my coworkers and I used to make fun of it. That way if there was something I couldn’t do we all knew what was going on. Nobody ever complained that I got special treatment!

SO happy to see you're back in the van! Glad surgery went so well and you're healed. Yes, once we have the surgery it takes awhile to get back into our chairs again- I have had 2 in 21 yrs in the chair so I TOTALLY understand what they both have been thru. It will take a bit to totally heal but will still have to be monitored as the skin is now compromised, which sucks but we can do it! When I mentor newly injured, I tell them it's ok to go down the rabbit hole but pop up now and then....AZ is awesome in the winter of course. Would love to meet you both if you come to the Phoenix area. DEFINITLY take your time to heal completely for sure. Take care. Hugs to you both.

Nicholette, I'm so glad you got through the sand bed and have healed thus far (fingers crossed because I'm superstitious)! my mother had the same surgery at a different age, under VERY different health conditions (after chemo that really messed up her body) and it didn't go well, especially the sand bed. I didn't want to post about it until you were off the bed, which is where my mom encountered her issues. you're much younger, in better health and you made it through that! so happy and thinking ONLY good things for your future healing and your return to your regular life. I do understand how scary pressure sores are, and am glad you got through finding a doctor -- all of it. you're doing great advocating for your health. continue taking care and I'm looking forward to your future content! ❤

I’m glad you are gonna take your time to be sure you are healed. Here’s hoping your “butt” will treat you well because you certainly have been good to it. I don’t think you have to worry about any of us going anywhere. I for one have been rooting for you and will continue to do so. Don’t cut off Brian when he mentions membership its not like your demanding anything from anyone but it’s an option everyone should know about. It’s perfectly acceptable all TH-camrs that I have seen have it and mention it. Why shouldn’t you too😀

Nicolette, I am so happy for you that you have someone so supportive & loving. I hope I have someone like Brian someday. I have a neurological condition that for all practical purposes doesn’t allow me to sit. I can stand, but not for long periods of time. I am not a wheelchair user. My late husband was killed in 2019, 2 weeks after I became disabled. I did have a BF for almost 2 yrs til he ghosted me. I'm going to start dating again in the early part of the new year. Butt surgeries are tough, I had one in 2020, and had those "matress" stitches on both sides of my backside. I imagine you have a lot of bruising. I bet you'll be celebrating when those stitches come out ❤
