    I put the Ultra on at Best Buy and find the cloth bands oddly too lightweight for the heavy watch. Needs more “balance” to not rotate on wrist without excessive tightening (I despise tight watch bands). When my ordered Ultra arrives, I’ll likely use traditional band like Apple’s Nike band.

    • @KeliFancher
      @KeliFancher  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, yeah. I like tight watch bands, but I’d you don’t the watch will definitely rotate around your wrist.

    I to have small wrists, what I would describe as women's sized wrists. I must admit earlier on with the Apple Watch Ultra when I seen them on videos I thought they looked ridiculous on small wrists, but as time went on, they have certainly grown on me, to the point where I am probably going to order the Apple Watch Ultra next time they are updated. I expect the size difference on how it looked and feels on my wrist, after a few days of wearing it, I would be used with it, and not really notice how large it looked on my wrist anymore.

    • @KeliFancher
      @KeliFancher  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a fashion item, so completely up to the wearer and what they like.
      I am pleasantly surprised at how "small" it feels on the wrist after wearing it for a bit. Though it's a bit chunky with some of my longer and sleeve shirts that have tighter cuffs.

      @@KeliFancher Since my last comment I decided to go ahead and order the Ultra, rather than wait till its next update. And here's my findings/experience.
      I got the Ultra a couple of weeks ago, along with the orange Alpine Loop, Green Alpine Loop and the black/grey Trail Loop which came on the watch.
      I got the Series 8 when it first came out, after initially not liking the Ultra on thin wrists (I have thin wrists). But recently the Ultra has really grown on me and I regretted not getting it over the Series 8. So I decided to order the Ultra, try it out for 7 days on my day to use, and see if I like it better than the Series 8. If I do, I would sell the Series 8 (I should still get a lot of money back for it as it's the stainless steel model and it's still the newest model).
      I'm absolutely loving the Ultra and my only regret is not getting instead of the Series 8 when it first came out. My first impression strangely was it looked smaller on my wrist than I thought it would, and also despite it been larger than the Series 8, it does not really feel heavier on my wrist than it. I suppose with me been used to wearing the stainless steel 45mm version there is not a great deal of difference in the weight between it and the titanium of the Ultra, hence why I don't really feel any weight difference with the Ultra. Things that I'm really enjoying are the flat screen, larger screen, the extra brightness (which I'm really noticing outdoors) the increased battery life, and basically just that totally different look to what we are used to seeing with the standard Apple Watch. Yes I will never use this watch to its full potential, but saying that, how many people buy expensive divers style watches from Rolex, Omega, Breitling and similar and never go anywhere near water or scuba dive with them. If I continue to enjoy the Ultra, then I can safely say that I will be staying with the Ultra Apple Watch's from hereon,

      @@psyduck5092 Hi. Yes I'll be glad to answer your questions if I am able to. I mainly use mine for walking and the occasional hike and also the once a week cardio session in the gym. But I like the tracking of my walks, distance, calories burned, heart rates (max, average, current) etc, and to see and track the improvements in my cardio side to, all of which show up and get stored in the Fitness app and or the Health app on the iPhone.
      I think even for your walking, if you have an interest in seeing the data I have mentioned above, then I think you will enjoy it and find it useful. Admittedly I have not used any of the more advanced features that the Ultra has, but I think a lot of other purchasers will be like that too and got the Ultra for the totally different look that it had compared to the other Apple Watch. My wrists are around the same size that you mentioned (give or take half a centimetre of so). The Apple Watch has in the Fitness app, a list of different activities, and when you have ended your workout/walk, you are able to see that workout and a list of other workouts you have done in the Fitness app on the iPhone. I don't find the need to use a third party app to track the workouts I have mentioned above as I find the included Fitness app on the Apple Watch and the iPhone provide me with all the information I need.
      Up until I got the Ultra, I had been getting the 45mm sized Apple Watch's, and when I first got the Ultra I actually thought it looked smaller on my wrist than I had thought it would. Never the less the watch was big, but a few days of wearing it I was totally used to it, and I only regret not getting the Ultra when it first came out, and regret getting the Series 8 instead. Since selling the Series 8 and getting the Ultra, I have had zero regrets. My advice is, if you can wait a short time (another month at most) it's rumoured that there will be a Series 2 version of the Ultra. Either way, if you decide to get an Ultra now or wait till the next version comes out, if you get it from Apple, you have 14 days to try things (here in the UK) to see if they are right. If you have regrets and don't think the Ultra is for you, you can simply return it for a refund.
      Also with regards to "What do you think I can do with this watch". Putting the fitness tracking aside, the Apple Watch is a fantastic device for getting your notifications on from the various apps you have on your iPhone, for example the Messages app, and most other apps to. I regularly use my Apple Watch for reading texts, replying to and find the on-screen keyboard on the Ultra (with it's larger screen) is very usable. Also, you can use Apple Pay to pay for things you buy in shops, and I find it's extremely handy having your payment methods on your wrist, and its actually more secure (using Apple Pay) than using a physical credit/debit card.
      Before I got my first Apple Watch, I had a normal watch. As soon as I got my first Apple Watch, my normal watch sat in my bedside drawer and remained there for three years unworn. In the end I sold it, as the Apple Watch was more useful for me as a watch I could wear everyday and was just a lot more useful to me than a normal watch.
      With regards to weight. The thing with the Ultra is, its titanium which is a lightweight metal compared to stainless steel. I had the stainless steel models and I have never noticed any weight difference between the Series 8 stainless steel and the Ultra. With regards to "artificial intelligence that I know is listening to me all day long". Apple is known for its security and privacy, so I would not be too concerned about that.
      I hope I have been able to help you with the confusion and if you need anymore help, then just ask. Whichever Apple Watch you decide to get, I think you will enjoy it and find it more and more useful the longer you have it (that's what I found).

    I want to make this mention too, it works with the 44mm from the gen 6 as well. I have a lovely seasonal deep forest green sports band from two years ago and that fits the Ultra just fine. When I went to pick up the Ultra, I was like... let's see if the 44mm band would work and the store employee gladly tried it on the floor model and it worked just fine.

    The answer is no matter what you “think” if your wrist is much smaller than 6.5in then you can’t wear the bands that have lugs. Luv to lug ends up being basically 55mm long. Stick with the “ocean” band or the regular Apple Watch bands. Period.

    Really good review. I didn't know Apple made a bigger watch, so this review got pretty excited about it and I went on their website to do some research. Unlike you I do have big wrists, with my smaller left wrist being 8.5 inches or 215mm in circumference. However, Apple only have one strap which will fit me, which is the trail strap and that only goes up to 220mm. So it's gonna be right on the limit. I'm gonna take a trip tp the Apple store and try them on for size. Cheers.

      Absolutely. The straps are a piece of cake to wash, if I'm in a rush I'll just wash them in the sink - if not I'll toss them in with the laundry.
      Now though I have a couple of more straps. I use one of the Trail Loops that is basically dedicated for use while sleeping and a rubber one for exercising with (which I wash after every use).

    I feel like if they wanted to make a watch with more "real estate" that is truly compatible with small wrists, it would need to have a flexible screen that wraps around your wrist like a wide cuff bracelet. I feel like any Apple watch would very big on me, as I am a small woman with a small wrist even for a woman.

    My opinion - small guys with thin wrist look smaller and thinner with big watches. Socially that’s not acceptable. Women can wear a big watch because smallness is not a problem. It’s a ‘cute’ look for them. So guys like me - 5’6”, 6”(153mm) wrist - stick with a 41mm Watch. This video is kind of useless when he doesn’t say his wrist size. I heard some guys who consider 6.5” (165mm) a small wrist. It’s not.

    • @KeliFancher
      @KeliFancher  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Fair point, I didn’t get to that as I didn’t think most non-watch people would care. My wrist is about 155mm. The ultra is bigger than I’d want for a formal watch (not that I’d choose an Apple Watch then anyway) but works fine for me for daily wear. Thanks for watching!
