I saw this movie back in the theater when it came out. I laughed so hard at this scene. Flash forward to today, My wife are her ice cream too fast and pinched the top of her nose and being that I vaguely remembered the scene, or the movie, it felt like Deja Vu. For some reason, Rosie O’Donnell seemed familiar and Emilio Estavez, so I jump on IMDB and start looking. I look up this scene and here I am, laughing my ass off again. Dennis Farina was one of my favorite actors when it came to comedy, and I completely forgot he was even in this. Snatch is another favorite. “Do you have anything to declare?” “Yeah. Don’t go to England.”
When I saw this scene for the first time in the theater, my girlfriend and I laughed so hard we were crying. I remember the other people in the crowd laughing out loud too. For some reason, while it still makes me laugh, it doesn't seem to be as funny. I almost wonder if they edited the film slightly from the theater version? That's the benefit of watching a good film in a crowded theater with an energetic crowd. Silence of the Lambs had a similar, but scary effect. That audience was jumping out of their seats. It gets contagious. Great entertainment. :)
I was thinking the same thing. He took off the chocolate bread (which is, in my opinion, the best part of an ice cream sandwich) but left a piece of wrapping
bwahahaha... seriously funny, as in LOL funny for those that appreciate well acted comedic timing and expressions! I may not agree with Ebert on his Throw Momma From the Train review, but he was right in saying this scene made him laugh more than any other he had seen in a year. Rosie and Richard make a hilariously funny "married" couple. Other than a few slow scenes this is any enjoyable film that has enough laughs to carry you through to the climactic end. 3 stars! RIP DF!
Check out Siskel and Ebert's review of Another Stakeout particularly near the end where Ebert praised Dennis Farina's performance and says he laughed more during that scene than any scene he had seen in a year. It won't let me link it here but search youtube for "Richard Dreyfuss in "Another Stakeout" 1993 Movie Review". Good stuff.
I remember watching both steak out and another steak out When I was a teen, so funny I'm going hmv Tomoz to order them ;) If you ain't seen them, watch em You won't be disappointed from These classic cop movies 👍

I loved Dennis Farina in this movie. He was usually doing serious movies. Richard Dreyfuss was great too.
He was hilarious in Snatch which is a comedy

One of my favorite scenes. Thanks for the post. RIP Denny

Dreyfus is just awesome in all his movies!
Richard Dreyfuss is such an underrated actor.
Great share, love this scene.
Dennis Farina was the best in this.
Thats when the people who invited you over wore out their invitation.
And Dreyfuss left even piece of icecream wrapping paper there on plate, it was disgusting !
