The reason he won wasn't because you misdropped too much, it was because he was focused and slowing down enough to figure out what he needed to do to get those combos. The T-Spins posed too much of a risk for ruining a possible chain.

The longest recorded game I have was me playing Tetris against a CPU ecolo in big bang. It lasted 9 minutes. I didn't even have the charge time set to long, we were just cancelling out each other's attacks.
Well BB is another story. The puyo player needs some good luck if he wants to guarentee an all clear by the end of the combo, but offsetting alone against tetris is already too damn powerful with how damage scoring is meant to favor Puyo. Sounds like a fun time, I gotta try that out.
@@TunaBear64 Lol I once made a random 12 chain (fever board) with ALL CLEAR when I tried to extend the 5 chain to 7, and there were no 8 puyos popping at the same time if I remember
I'm pretty sure this is less "not giving up" and more "similar skill matchups". I've had 7 to 10 minute swap matches with people of similar skill, rating gap or not. Edit: This video also contains a LOT of misdropping on your side, I recommend playing Big Bang to practice piece control, online or just in single-player challenge mode. I can't speak for everyone, but that's how I got better at not misdropping.
DeepSeaBlue Im aware of the misdropping. Lately I've been practicing finesse in Nullpo in order to guarantee less slip-ups like these happen. I'm also using BB for that and I hope I dont mess up as much in the future. But thanks for the heads up. Im open to take advice from anyone.
This video honestly contains a lot of misdrops on both sides, to call him lucky is unfair, although you've surely improved by now this was definitely a very equal match up.
Looks like me but I only know Tetrises back then. Now at least I can T-Spin whenever possible. Also, those misdrops were painful. Don't count force drops from garbage beyond 20 lines as misdrops.
My longest game was 8.11 against an Ex player called !naki (letters were another writing style) it was the most instense swap battle of Skill and perseverance i've ever had

cool. this is in a level just above what i could do at my peak with tetris. but probably below what i can do with puyos at any given time :P anyway, a relatable level, which pleases me. usually videos from this game are from unholy speed demons with perfect plays or utter newbies. but not this, this is where it's at!
The only bad things about keyboard controlls in PPT are honestly: A. The standard button setup. (Thank god we can change that) B. That it feels weird at first. But you get used to it, rather quickly actually.
Only reason I cried at the 5th misdrop is because I misdrop often too. Not even my own fault just my faulty pro controller that I need to get checked out :') This was a surprisingly entertaining watch though.
I don't enjoy vs mode that much, and I haven't played an online vs game yet. (Got this game a few weeks ago) That being said, my longest match was a 10 minute faceoff against a strengthened AI of Arle CPU. I've played a couple of strengthened AI matches and none others took that long, mainly because I was an idiot and didn't know back then that I would have a better chance of winning by risking a little to hit tetrises or TSDs instead of triples. It also didn't help that I would misdrop a ton, like... almost as much as you did in this video, so most of the time I was cleaning up my own mess. I still have this issue and it often results in me losing games to the CPUs, so gaining consistency is my primary objective I guess.
This video reminds me of a match I had with my sister, where I try the center 3-wide strat (I suck at t-spins outside of big bang) then I mis dropped, not in the center not off to the side, but at the very top of the screen when I tried to unleash my 3-wide essentially killing myself.
That guy was like old me didn’t know how to t-spin and only used both combos and tetri although I usually always had a speed advantage over my opponent
JetJettison Oh okay but idk why it felt like that. Have you played Tetris 99 it pretty fun. They should make Puyo Puyo Tetris 99 it will be pretty chaotic. XD
