Literally brings tears to my eyes. How are we so blessed to have this artist... when I discovered her in high school, I knew she was way ahead of her time! I can’t express how meaningful it is to see her now in 2021, still relevant as ever!!!! Love you MIA

I'm from Japan. I remember when I first heard this song.. I was like 14 and so obsessed with it! Then I became her fan and made it to her show in Japan! I'm so proud of it! She's still making great music and keep fascinating me😍😍
I'll never forget the day I met maya. she is an amazing person. I been listening to her music for almost 10 years, her work is exceptional, she is an underrated artist.
Honesty MIA is such a dope original artist. I remember in 2007 at cinespace in la when she performed right there in the audience/ minimal she booth. Then she BLEW the fuck up. Love her.
Ps MIA is a fucking badass. My god, this is just the prequel. Bad Girls is simply sickening. I’m sorry I lost my shit when I saw it and told everyone I knew and felt super super cool about it. MIA is one of the most original mainstream artists ever. Especially female. And she’s classy not like some stupid hoe. Respect! I sound retarded bc I’m faded but I don’t care I love her forever!
I love her because she puts a lot of meaning and thought into her songs. But, you have to listen and think about the words to understand her meaning. If you don't, you get memorized and lost by the tune and rhythm of the song. Darn! You just gotta' love these British musicians!
The video is basically a depiction of a militia/terrorist camp in Sri Lanka.. I'm sure most people don't get it. And mostly they have females soldiers in such camps. MIA was always unique and creative from the start. Respect for this subtle video!
I wonder how much she would agree with the word "terrorists". Rebels who stand up against being slaughtered get tagged as Terrorists when they loose to the powerful world politics.
Hard-hitting, tribal, and aimed at the pop audience. This woman is a citizen of earth and an artist with true originality... Clever lyrics and an amazing video. Plastic people cannot fathom this level of artistry; those who follow the disney-pop formula cannot fathom the depths of integrity in her songs. What you (or, as most ppl comment: Americans) consider pop music is nothing but a marketing device. THIS, however, is MUSIC.
She has meaning in her lyrics , soul in her music , Some people just can't understand em rather say ' she is hot' She didn't blabber like pitbul to fill up the music with city names , or use the words fuck , big butt , for every single line of the lyrics ! A decent singer from rich culture ! #respect #mia

The first time I saw this was in either 2005/2006 on the show Video Music Box here on NYC public TV/public access. It drew me right in. I ran out and bought "Arular" the next day, and it did not disappoint. I was so happy to discover a great new female artist, and I've been a fan ever since. MIA is a compelling artist who takes expression through art to the next level.
I remember hearing this song with my best friend for the 1st time in High School maybe 2005 and we immediately loved the beat and always had it on repeat. Little did I know in 2021 at 30 years old I still love the song and best as I did at 14/15

I think this was even recorded in 2003...
