Sounded lovely and quiet even at 70+mph. I have one on order and that was one of my worries that it might not be as quiet as my MkIII Mondeo. But it sounds like I won't be disappointed there.

@N H New Octavia is more expensive than Golf, at least here in Poland. Leon is pretty boring, it has the worst materials inside, it's as loud as Octavia and it doesn't even drive particulrily well anymore. @MrKranky90 Materials are not better, they're exactly the same. Yes, VW has much better sound insulation. Octavia is pretty noisy, especially on the highway.
It's 55. I have the hatch version and can confirm. Fuel consumption is much lower. I managed a combined 5.5L/100 km (@850km journey) on a combination of city, highway, twisty mountain roads, with 5 people in the car plus luggage. I have to admit that I did the full 1500km break in prior to this.
If it's only 45 litres then the SEL Estate I was able to test drive prior to ordering my hatch was doing well on economy; it still had 250 miles left in the tank and that was less than half too. That's pretty good.
@@gabrielmateitoma8527 Exactly, I drive a 2014 Skoda Superb, this car might be a bit older and not as up to date, but it's build way better then the new Octavia and Superb, back in 2015' VW was suffering to much from Skoda's succes, they started selling more SuperB's and Octavia's then Golf Variant and Passat's, cutting to much in VW's profits, so VW held Skoda back and reduced build Quality, Skoda was getting to good. My Superb from 2014 has almost no wind noise, it's way better isolated, and stable at any speed.

I drove a VW Arteon with the 1.5 TSI ACT and 6-Speed manual. It's a very quiet and powerful engine. It was also efficent on long trips.

Yeah, interior is WAY Better (quality & design Wise!).
Quality is absolutely the same, design is slightly better, sound insulation is much worse.

Octavia is known to be noisy, it suffers from a lot of intrusive wind noise.

It is fairly noisy, not better than the old model. Golf is much quieter.
