  • Trae Zipperer founder of By Memorial Day traveled to Flemington, NJ in Hunterdon County to give a veteran headstone cleaning presentation to County Commissioners Susan Soloway and Zach Rich along with county staff and patriotic citizens at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Trae chose the grave site of WWII Marine PFC Walter J. Barker, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division, to educate those in attendance about the significance of honoring our veteran heroes of the past with clean headstones. PFC Walter J. Barker was Killed In Action September 15, 1944 at the Battle of Peleliu during the first day amphibious assault of the Pacific island held by the Japanese.
    Hunterdon County was the first municipality in the United States to invite Trae Zipperer to help them implement a program to clean every veteran headstone by Memorial Day. County Commissioner Susan Soloway was the first government leader in the nation to take the initiative to honor veterans with clean grave markers after watching Trae Zipperer on ABC’s LIVE with Kelly and Ryan national tv show.
    In this video, Trae Zipperer explains the tools and supplies he uses to properly clean government-furnished veteran headstones and grave markers following the best practices headstone cleaning protocol issued by the National Cemetery Administration. The cleaning agent used was D/2 Biological Solution and brushes used were Magnolia Brushes with natural Tampico fiber bristles.

    I want to do this in Canada!! Good luck to you guys in the states. I just learned my great uncle was killed in the Netherlands freeing the Dutch in WWII and the Dutch always take care of our Canadian soldiers buried in their beautiful cemeteries. We should be taking care of ours buried back home.

    Trae, thank you for your service. Your cousin Jim Johnson is a friend of mine (I'm also from South Jersey). I saw in this month's American Welding Society magazine that there were people cleaning the headstones by blasting them with dry ice?? Have you heard of this?? Thanks again. 👍👍👍

      Getting America's attention about our veteran hero headstones covered in biological filth sure isn't easy. I guess that's why God gave me the gifts of stamina, self discipline, and determination. God has a plan and He wants those veteran headstones cleaned.

      We need all the help we can get! My hope is that one person in every town USA will step up to pave the way for others in their community to lend a warm hand on a cold stone. Somebody has to do the legwork of planning a veteran headstone cleaning event. The second event is a piece of cake!

    I love and totally agree with what you say about the "permission" to clean veteran graves - and I think it should apply to all neglected graves in general ☻💕 there's so many graves that we're losing to time because there's no one showing them TLC anymore - usually because they're so aged that no one alive now knows who they were. If a person is educated on how to clean graves appropriately, it should just be respected, appreciated, and not frowned upon!

When the number 316 begins popping up in weird places on a regular basis, God is trying to get your attention. I had to start taking pictures of 316 to show my friends and family so they wouldn't send me off to some special place.

    Are you still in the NorthEast? If so, I’d like to show you something that would really interest you in Connecticut. It has to do with Revolutionary War Prisoners that were dumped on the shores or my City. 77 American Patriots are buried there. Great content, I’ll keep cleaning Veterans graves here in my area, keep up inspiring people to do the same.

      I am hopeful government leaders will watch my videos about the need for society to maintain the graves of veterans within their hometown cemeteries, and then take action within their respective jurisdiction. It doesn't cost much money, and most everyone agrees veteran headstones covered in filth is not acceptable, so it seems like a no-brainer for any leader to champion this cause.

      @Sandalphon9 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@theyfaceeast I agree. We need to Honor our Fallen with Dignity and Respect. This is a simple yet profound way to do so. Thank you for what you do. ❤️

    • @theyfaceeast
      @theyfaceeast  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Sandalphon9 Just to be clear, our mission is to clean EVERY veteran headstone by Memorial Day, not only our Fallen. Protecting and defending our nation is a team effort where all gave some, some gave all.
      By Memorial Day is not to be confused with the national holiday Memorial Day, which is dedicated to our Fallen, whereas Veterans Day focused on EVERY veteran. The name is a call to action and could have been By Veterans Day, but my hometown city fought against my attempt to clean our local veteran headstones by Veterans Day. Delayed by pushback, red tape, and stonewalling by local government officials, I ran out of sufficient time to organize the cleaning of all veteran headstones by Veterans Day.
      The next upcoming appropriate veterans holiday was Memorial Day, so I set the goal of getting all veteran headstones cleaned by Memorial Day.
      My grandfather didn't die on the battlefields of Europe during WWII, but the young man he was before looking down into hell's abyss did not come home from the war.
