Think you for sharing this with me I'm from america and to see this as an African American brings tears of joy just to know a little of my lost African tradition I never knew and I can share this with my kids
@devillockkid It depends on what type of music. I really enjoy Koffi Olomide (Congo), Fally Ipupa (Congo), Ofori Amponsah (Ghana), Samini(Ghana), Salif Keita (Congo), Angelique Kidjo (Benin), Ali Farka Toure (Mali), Oumou Sangere(Mali), Just A Band (Kenya), Miriam Makeba (South Africa)...the list goes on! ♥
nice to see some original festival music from the region! Much from that region is concert style music, with djembe. Very interesting to see this drumming style! And it's great music!
The new (Michael Pluznick) MP Eco Pro 12 and 13" djembes are now in production! They will be available in the USA at X8 drums. We will also be shipping out in minimum orders of 10 drums from Bali if you live somewhere else. Contact me here if you are interested in ordering.
i miss home :( jvondra: this is not obama's home town. the post says west africa. obama's home town is in East Africa(big difference in musical expression). watch a movie called "war dance" and you'll see music that's close to Obama's ancestry

im from east afrika Ethiopia a whole different culture here from the rest of afrika but feel so proud to see this. damn we are so amazing right?
this dance reminds of the "Cumbia" in Panama and Colombia- which is danced EXACTLY the same. We can dance all night that way. Soft and easy!
