I think one of the grave mistakes our parents & grandparents made is that they pushed their children & grandchildren to university to pursue higher education to work for others, not to engage in working for themselves. I remember when I was a teen, many people looked down on farming, masonry, plumbing & the like & called these "dutty & low dung wok" whereas office administration, etc was looked upon with high esteem.
